i love your Grimm collection, but this one's my favorite because this particular story is hardly ever mentioned.

Lovely! I'm working on a Frog Prince piece as well (by request). I've notice that there are a lot of people making art from that story.

I love that you are illustrating the Brothers Grimm's imaginations in your work. Your details are fantastic.

Gorgeous. I especially love the look of her clothes. Might want to work on the frog a bit; it feels out of place. I think some shadows might work. ^_^

I like this a lot... it's got a very fantasy-ish feel. I'd only recommend putting a little more shadows and such on the frog, so he blends in with the picture a little more. I didn't like the version where she threw him against the wall, either.... I especially didn't like it when he was all, "Hey, by trying to kill a poor, defenseless innocent froggy who never did a single thing to you except get on your bratty princess-y nerves by "forcing" you to carry out your promise, you broke the spell on me! Let's get married!" And then she was all, "Yeah, since you're not actually an annoying, slimy, favor-mooching little frog but a hot, buff, loaded prince!"
XP
I always thought the message was.... um.... "Keep your promises, or..." um. *thinks hard*
Okay, so yeah. I can't think of a suitable moral except for, "Take in unsuspecting froggies as house guests, commence a slaughter, and sooner or later you'll find your hot hunky prince husband." And obviously that's no moral for small children to go by.
This picture made me curious, so I went searching for "The Frog Prince", and found this site with some variations of it: [link] Just in case you or someone else wanted to read them.

I always loved this story too! I'd make my mom read it to me over and over. I wish I still had the original book I had as a child with that story in it.
All of your artwork is more than astounding, but I'm always drawn to this one!

I love fairy tales. In Germany this fairy tale is called " Der FroschkΓΆnig ". Very harmonious work.

Thank you!
Yeah, I see what you mean about the frog's hand. It kind of wound up over the sparkly thing on the ball totally by chance.

Wonderful rendition of the familiar story. The title adds meaning to it all as well. Beautiful dress very well done.
