This is the reason I'm not assigned self-portraiture very often. Because I take that extra step. You know, the one where you draw yourself as a naked historical martyr being shot with birds instead of arrows.On that note, did you know that St. Sebastian is supposedly the patron/protector of victims of the bubonic plague? I'm not sure why, since he's supposed to have been shot with arrows until he died, come back to life, been beaten to death (again) and thrown into a pit of human waste.
India ink and watercolor. I don't think this really merits a mature content tag.

This is super cool! I love the representation of the birds as the arrows too ^^ it's really awesome!
And the reason he's the patron for the plague was because the wounds inflicted by the arrows seemed to mimic the sores caused by the bubonic strain, also there were testimonies that many sufferers who asked for his prayers in intercession, when they were stricken with the disease, were miraculously healed, so he became associated for help against the plague.

If I knew that St. Sebastian was the patron saint of the bubonic plague, I would have picked that for my saint for 'Confirmation' (some mamby pamby catholic bull).
I love how loose your lines are. I wish I could draw like that sometimes. I'm incapable of scribbleness. >_<

I know, right? I picked some stupid name that I thought sounded cool when I was a 13-yo anime-obsessed little wanker. I probably would have gotten mocked for choosing a male name though, so maybe it's for the best.
It's just practice and letting yourself get real loose in the wrist. It helps not to be too afraid of messing up.
