Description
This is one of many character design/studies i did for 'a non-disclosed game company who is getting their ducks in a row." Most of the work was rough design sketches and studies to help the 3d modellers.At first I figured Perceptor to be pretty bland and really his bot mode doesn't have a lot of finer detail from the waist up. I had never drawn the guy before this and he was kinda similar to drawing prime or megatron with the same basic shape.

I think Perceptor may have actually been the 1st triple-changer out to the US market.
I never really transformed him into his microscope a lot,.....I always used his TANK form.

sorta... not really. he was really just a microscope with tank treatds. the weirdo. he sorta has a tank mode... but he was never officially a triple change (he never used the third mode in the cartoon)

Pretty cool. I think the basic idea with transformers is to start with cuboids and work your way up.
Its not that bacteria will be masssive in 2005, its that the microscope will be used to focus the suns power to....um....make ants pop and focus glare in the Decepticon's eyes?

Well, in all fairness, Perceptor is "supposed" to have a third altmode of a tank ... though the "cannon" bears a striking resemblence to a microscope barrel ...
