I like the look of 'er, especially the look of the smokebox handle making it look tranquil as it starts it's morning run. (the crew probably don't think so!)

north british locomotive works built locomotives for oversea's railways, the railway that needed a 4-6-6-2 commissioned NB for this locomotive.

this particular locomotive was commissioned for a special task. NCF mines in Argentina needed a locomotive that could haul 60+ loaded mineral wagons through the La Yakti mountain range, across the torra del manhigo plains all the way to the harbor at Sulfura. North british came up with this, the Lb Class 4-6-6-2. They were known for their good steaming and high adhesion to the rails, but were very fuel hungry, and water stops were frequent. Despite this, they still drudge up the mountain grades and lope gallantly through the plains to this day. Modifications are taking place with new technology's such as lemprex exhaust, GPCS combustion, seve flues and the streamlining of the steam circuit. NCF #101 is currently undergoing a complete overhaul with all these modifications and others, to produce a modern variant of the Lb.
