First off, the angle is kick-ass. Focus is well managed from the fence to the lighthouse and gives us a great view with stunning colours. I wondered if you used a polarizer... Great photo accomplished with such a lovely and complete composition; I love it.

Well thanks so much! A really heartfelt comment

So you are correct about the polariser, and the sky at top left was just matched in colour to the rest - it was near the axis of the polariser and getting pale. There's a little vignette added. Other than that, its straight outta the camera

There was so much bright light, it was easy to set for hyperfocal distance that day - focal point is the rocks between the broken fence and the lighthouse. The lens was set at what I believe to be it's optimal f16 aperture.

In my mind, this image is so close to how I saw that scene that day - I do love this one

Oh well, I couldn't resist commenting on this one : )
And I felt like I would receive a nice reply back.

Glad to see that some people actually enjoy receiving and doing on their side little constrictive comments too.

Have a nice day
Mind if I add you as a friend?

There is something that always draws me there, for it is a long way from here

It is always a tentative trip waiting for the moment when the rocks come into view... I do love it there!

sartassa88 In reply to whhoah [2007-12-02 13:55:31 +0000 UTC]

yes I've heard of the fact that new zealand is a country full of diversity, austria isn't its just too small to have so many different landscapes ... do you live on the north or the southern island? and is it true that there are more sheep than men?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whhoah In reply to sartassa88 [2007-12-02 13:58:27 +0000 UTC]

Hahaha and also there are more women than men...

I'm in the capital city, Wellington, North Island (Te-Ika-a-Maui).

The area shown here is approx 350km away from home

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sartassa88 In reply to whhoah [2007-12-02 13:59:58 +0000 UTC]

ah I see, the northern island is more tropical right? and the southern is full of mountains and forests just like well... ahm, doesn't matter
more women than men? that's funny, why's that?
wellington, right I've heard of that in the english classes

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

whhoah In reply to sartassa88 [2007-12-02 14:03:53 +0000 UTC]

Dunno why there is many more women, I guess just some imbalance in populations. Can't say that I have noticed any effects of that
