Quite a long time ago; I drew an Elf. I drew and Elf, and her name was Bayan, and despite being pretty stoked about her, at the time; I never really drew her again.

Then, quite recently; browsing through the books under my bed, I happened across an old fantasy art book by a guy called Finlay Cowan. This guy is RAD, really, really great. He has a particularly strong love of Mid-eastern styles, and the style sort of grew on me, the more I read.

So with that in my mind; I went back to draw Bayan again. And this is what happened when I did!

A few things changed with her old design, but nothing overly major. Some changes to hair and outfit really; though it's probably going to take a decent drawing of her to show all the changes properly. As for the background? Who knows. Perhaps she's wandering the terraces of some ancient University, or Magi-College on a beautiful evening? I dunno, but what I DO know, is that drawing backgrounds is starting to get really fun!
