October 23, 2005The sunset melts into the heatwave generated by a 30-foot flame. This was one of many shots I took while burning slashpiles in northwestern Ontario.
I ran back to the truck for the camera when I realized the sight in front of me .. a sunset distorted and almost 'melting' into the fire.
There was virtually no post work to be done here.. the color and visual distortion of the trees completely caused by smoke and fire. I cropped, despeckled, resized the print version.. and framed it.

Glad to hear it wb.You do great fire but that sun,to me, is one of those small natural flaws that can't be corrected.It changes the balance of the shot and detracts from the flames rather than enhancing them.I do love that fire though!

What an image... fire so hot it melts the sun. What could make such a fire if one were to run with that idea?
