Description
In the 27 years I have been a forest fire fighter, I had yet to capture a fire whirl, otherwise known as a 'fire devil', with my camera. 2 nights ago, as we were carrying out some hazard reduction grass burning around a local community, I happened to see this one forming for about 5 seconds, and shot a quick burst. The devil only lasted for a couple of seconds, and was far smaller than many I've seen, but I was nevertheless delighted to have captured it!
