My second half of the entry for 's contest, designing mascots for their group. The other half is here: [link]

Meet V-kun.

You can interpret the V as "Vocaloid" or "Variable" (you'll see why), either way is okay.

"He" may be called V-kun, but he and V-tan (see link above) are one and the same, genderless being: "V". Then why do they appear as male and female? It's for easier designation purposes. (That, and aesthetics. Never forget that.)

He is the personification of the Vocaloid program itself (Miku, Kaito etc are the personification of the voicebanks). He works by channeling the cyber-"spirits" of the Vocaloids.

Color scheme mostly based on the Vocaloid3's boxart, a big white box with a black V (hence the name and many Vs on his design). And I make him robotic... just because. (Well he's a program, so it's okay.)

More on this:
-> He will morph into V-tan if he's going to emulate male Vocaloids.
-> He wll change color scheme depending on which voicebank she's emulating. (the "variable" comes from here.)
-> He can create clones of himself when there are 2 or more voicebanks used.

Personal note:
-> I'm not too proud on that V-shaped ahoge; it's just my close approximation on giving him a V on his hair. Originally he's going to look like a mix of Franky (One Piece) and Shikamaru (Naruto), but I scrapped that. It looked ridiculous.
-> I'm not good at drawing andogynous characters (which I just realized recently), so I make these two buddies to compensate.
-> Originally his color scheme is similar to V-tan, but then I inverted it. It's always good to make a contrasting appearance, isn't it?
-> And I might want to make a casual version of him some time in the future.
