Actually that is a straight scan of an original print with a medium format camera. I will say this though, it was a studio lighting setup done by a friend of mine as I was trying to learn how to light properly (still have a long way to go) From what I have gathered its really the mix of a really dark suit and a dark backdrop far behind with little to no light on it. I need a bigger studio setup to be able to do this myself, but I hope to be able to create this well again.
