*Whew* this one was quite a challenge... took a lot of time too... and I've also got a lot of stuff to say....well first off, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! (that's a good place to start lol)
anyways, here's Vox and Fish once again lol x3 this time she's tying our scarfs together lol x3 it was such a cute idea, i felt i had to draw it...
this is the picture that i gave for Christmas, framed it and everything...
I'm actually REALLY happy with how it turned out, despite the fact that i kinda rushed it.... i just really like how the characters look, I'm really having fun with them... and for some reason, not only Fish, but Vox has become more and more fun to draw for some bizzare reason...
lol and if you notice, i even had some fun with our outfits... modifying both of ours to fit the winter look more.... and i figured since Vox is blue, that i could make him kinda have an Ice theme... so that explains the white and blue...
anyways, I requested critiques on this one to just kinda see how I'm doing...
Time: i don't even remember... but probably somewhere near 15 hours

You're right, the color combo of Vox's clothes worked wonderfully. The blue and white matches the winter theme very well. And that's really a very cute touch, having your gf tie your scarfs together
Incidentally, your pic looked really gorgeous when I first viewed it on my dev-list. But the prettiness went down a bit when I viewed it enlarged. As a critique, maybe more detail in the drawing? Seeing more texture in the environment would be nice.
But generally, I think you're doing great ^^ You've got the skill to draw and color a good pic. I'll be waiting for you to reach a pro level before long.

see! i knew it was a good match lol x3 I do so love experimenting... even experimented with Fish's clothes too lol HAhah x3 ya, it was such a cute idea in my head that i had to put it on paper lol .... few ppl actually notice what she's doing when they first see it...
hmm, ya i noticed that too... it's almost as if i had the right idea going but didn't quite put enough details in to make the larger view quite worth it... though, i do have an excuse lol... i was EXTREMELY short on time for this one... had to stay up till 7am twice to get it done... and even then it wasn't done.. i was working on it up until about an half hour before my girlfriend came over.... so i was uber pressed for time.... didn't quite get to think everything through as much as i wanted... (such as the way i un-shaded turned out really grating on the eyes) and the background was all done in about 30 minutes while i was running on 4 hours of sleep lol x3 so considering how much i rushed, I'm amazed it even turned out half as good as it did x3 but now I'm rambling again... enough excuses.. i should have started earlier! ... *ahem*
hmm pro level? lol x3 I've got a long ways to go before that... and you're a lot closer than me... i really do need to experiment with traditional coloring a lot more.... digital drawings have to be far too precise.....

Wow, sounds like you worked on a really tight schedule XD But at least you got it to her on time. It doesn't matter if there are bits here and there left untouched, what matters is she liked it
But I have to admit...traditional coloring feels so much easier than digital art. Your digital art is definitely better than mine. Whenever I use my bamboo tablet, it's like..I can never use the pen naturally. Every stroke I make is clumsy.

hmm good point there! i should stop being so critical of my art...
there's a TON of differences between digital and traditional... i can't really even begin to compare the two... but as far as digital goes, it's all about getting the hang of it and used to how the tablet reacts to you.... and of course, there are all kinds of random effects and such you can use with photoshop... so it's all about knowing your tools... kinda like how with traditional, you just have to know how the various colors will mix together.... meh.. idk... both are hard though.... and i think that if you really put some time and effort into it, you could do digital drawings better than me.... your traditional drawings just blow me away every time....
lol and a totally random note, whenever i try to line art traditionally i get all nervous and my lines turn out terrible lol x3
