Description Well. This is indeed about Dumbledore.

I couldn't think of a better title, really.
If you have one, you're welcome...

Practice. Still in search of the right brushes to use. I mainly used watercolors.

I think it's not finished...But well, sometimes it's better to 'wait and see'.

The out-of-focused area of his body has a nice effect and makes you study his face. What is he thinking? Is this while Snape was a Death Eater? Or during the time Severus knew he had to asassinate Dumbledore?

I drew thinking of the Snape of the Prince's tale, in Dumbledore's office - it can be the scene when Dumbledore asks him to kill him, or the one when he learns that Harry won't survive. But the interpretation is up to you

Eh... Are we supposed to feel Dumbledore?...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to Kikimorra [2009-01-20 07:56:51 +0000 UTC]

lol. Yes.

Dumbledore is in front of Severus and 'Dumbledore' is what is in Sev's mind in this instant. Quite a complicated title

Well, I think Albus is used to it with Severus and doesn't mind at all.

I love his expression of lip-curling contempt! Gorgeous! The angrier he gets, the happier I am!

Vizen In reply to ls269 [2009-01-19 22:41:32 +0000 UTC]

oh, you're like me...Liking when he's angry...There is something very deep in his anger... force and despair, hope and his pulsing heart....

I especially liked this moment in your fic, when Severus feels the anger taking him - when he thinks about James touching Lily. I can say I'm really grateful to you for not forgetting that he has a powerful dark side in him. Many fans wants to see him as a very gentle person (oh, I understand that as well ! ), but, well, he's not empathetic nor a sympathetic person - he's an angry, embittered and broken soul. He's not Remus for example, who had a hard and unfair life - remaining benevolent

ls269 In reply to Vizen [2009-01-20 18:18:09 +0000 UTC]

Absolutely! His anger, bitterness and jealousy are a big part of his appeal, and I love how you capture that in your paintings! I think I like Severus best when he's scaring me!
To me, he's so different from Remus Lupin because he's so much more passionate - I like Lupin, but I don't think he has very strong feelings - certainly not as strong as Snape's. And I guess because Sev has no other outlet for his passion, it all gets turned into anger. I'd like to think he could fight against it, though, if he had Lily by his side (but they'd probably have quite a stormy relationship!)

Oh, hey - you can pickup Corel Painter X for cheap on eBay, just FYI I got mine after making sure the seller was legit, product sealed new in box, with your owner's serial number. It's a pretty good deal if you want to look into it I've got my Painter, but am still so preoccupied learning Photoshop I haven't really explored it yet

This one was a very quick one - I had the idea, I started and it was done. I think I could do a whole series of these moments, where Severus is listening to Dumbledore. very intense.

Yeap, I should do it. Maybe Corel is the right solution for my problems with those damned brushes.

How much RAM . . memory - do you have? I only have 3.5 G . . . or GB, or something. Corel & PS eats up a LOT of memory

Vizen In reply to joeyv7 [2009-01-20 17:47:17 +0000 UTC]

The worst in my case is how many PSD files I keep saved in the memory... I should clean them!

You could save it on an external disk ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

joeyv7 In reply to Vizen [2009-01-20 17:51:41 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes - I need to do that myself I have them all stored in memory & it's taking up alot of room.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to joeyv7 [2009-01-20 18:28:37 +0000 UTC]

I need to save them in CD...But should trash a good part of them first (all those useless versions and WIPs, you know...)

joeyv7 In reply to Vizen [2009-01-20 21:57:42 +0000 UTC]

I should probably do the same, and invest in an external hard drive before spending $$ on a more powerful computer.

you know, the husband is a russian engineer. It means : I'm totally a stupid basic user - and he's the one who understands and does useful clever things with the comp'. So - I can't tell you really what he does, but I think you can add just memory to the computer. I saw there are external hard disk for 100$ in New York.

What a good surprise, my friend!
I love the blurred DD and Severus is ... well, Severus.

P.S.: I have to load my brushes on photoshop all over again. Peter clicked on 'reset' by accident.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to Patilda [2009-01-19 11:40:07 +0000 UTC]

And my brushes are completely a mess...I loaded them in a chaotic order and lost a part of them by accident, etc... *rolling eyes*

Yeap, Severus.

I think people don't see him like that.
And he's just 'human' here... I like his relationship with Dumbledore, because there is so much in it - his ultimate expectations as a human being - he's vulnerable and insecure.

Ok. See you for the next Snape, then

Photoshop.

northangel27 In reply to Vizen [2009-01-19 01:06:37 +0000 UTC]

Why the ? I was just curious because you mentioned using watercolor brushes and I've heard that Corel painter has some great ones. I'm still dying to try that program!

I really liked your Severus here. I found the title amusing, as we almost see nothing of the man in question (just how I like it ).

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Vizen In reply to northangel27 [2009-01-19 11:30:07 +0000 UTC]

The is for the fact that other people adviced me to try Corel Painter, because they say with C Painter brushes are more easy to use. And I don't have Corel painter. Though, there was certainly a software sold with the tablet - I have to check it.

Well, the title came to me, and I couldn't think about something else. The subject is : how Severus feels, discussing with Albus. Well, there is so much contained in that name : Dumbledore.
