I am in awe. I am actually in awe every time I see your Snape, but today even more so. Itβs amazing how you take all his canonical features that supposedly make him ugly, put them together and β¦ the guy is blooming gorgeous. This particular look would seduce angels. Let them weep.

I'm having more pieces in storage than in public...I can't believe this one for instance is already an old one (two years!)...And I can't bring myself to unstore my works massively because if I stored a deviation, it means it needed some reworking...And reworking on old pieces is hard...So that it will be quite slow...But it's already some kind of miracle that I started unstoring...
He is definitely beautiful to me in his ugliness. That's why he is fascinating and difficult to draw. Either we make him too handsome and attenuate or ignore his book features, or we make an ugly caricature of him. A complicated exercise for fans who love him.

I know... and understand what you mean. That's also the reason I have so few Snape-centric faves; they're either too ugly, or too handsome (straight noses... movie-hair... muscular build... just some of my no-nos). I'm pretty anxious right now, as I'm preparing to draw Snape for the first time; and the above is definitely what I want to avoid. I have drawn several versions of him, and so far, am happy about none of them... Would that I had your experience in drawing beautiful-ugly guys.

There are different and many ways to draw him, respecting the book description. A hooked nose can be ugly or give the face its nobleness, for instance. Personally I see him like a beautiful man in his canon characteristics. But very often, I think the way I draw him is still too beautiful.

First, I would like to see this tattooed smoking version. *g*
Second, do you ever get tired of hearing, "Oh god, this is your best ever?" I hope not, because I think this is an incredible piece. I almost can't breathe when I look at him, looking out of the picture like that. The bit of red in the corners of his eyes is fabulous; it makes him look tired and stressed and angry or maybe it's just cigarette smoke. 
This is an intense Snape, dear Vizen. Well done.

All these versions are not new products - my stylet is broken and until my new tablet driver is installed, I don't draw... Nevermind - the unbuttoned version is done, ready for weeks but I'm never satisfied... So that it waits. I wanted to see how this one will be appreciated or not, as I'm not sure of how much it says "Snape". I'm glad it says it to you. thank you so much.
