More practice of scifi stuff for my comic, microns and white gel pen in a moleskine sketchbook, I erased a line down the middle of the page in the computer other than that it's unedited.Related content

Heh. Just do a "Mars Attacks" and add a few hundred of the same ship in one panel. People will get the idea and you don't have to go crazy in the other panels if you get the angle right...
Of course, your fingers will fall off from that splash page, but it'll be worth it!

Great illustration! I like the contrast of the three textures: lines, dots and craggy stuff!
Ditto the comment on the book cover... some late 1960s pulp sci-fi novel... or a rare edition of an early Arthur C Clarke collection of stories...
I've been revisiting some old startrek recently and got the sudden urge to create my own spaceship hovering over planet picture, need to design the spaceship first...

Thanks alot! Yeah the design part is rough, I've been working hard on that aspect so when I have to drop a ship in the comic I'll have somewhere to start instead of doing it on the fly, cuz then I'd have like a 93% chance it would suck, it does not come easy.

I love the simplistic, bare, yet complex nature of this piece. It really has the core graphic quality that comics need and it tells a story by itself. You should be proud of this!

Thank you for the kind words and the fave, I'm actually starting the layouts for the comic that this is concept work for... finally. I've been trying to get my chops up on scifi art while I do the writing. It's a difficult transition from my old style, which is very naturalistic, to working in a techy futuristic mode, so it's really nice to have someone saying I'm starting to get it right. I just finished the rough draft for episode 20 of the series about 15 minutes ago, so it's time to start doing real pages, which is pretty terrifying.
