Hello my friend, this is actually a manga technique, it's very common among Japanese comic series, you can use a 0.1 mm pen and French curves for best result. You can first try drawing a row of parallel curves then turn the French curves slightly to overlap a second row on it. Don't ever press hard and make sure each line doesn't break. If you are not confident enough you can first try by using a sharpened pencil, or do some free-hand experiment, if you managed to create a tidy row of parallel curves then you are close to success.
One common problem is the ink flow, new pens tend to have excessive ink flow that can affect the smoothness of lines, it's much better if you use slightly older pens. Good luck!

How do you do it? I don't understand I can never get the eyes write. Ive been told to draw those lines before hand but that doesnt work for me either.

Thanks! My line techique was actually inspired by realistic Japanese and Hong Kong mangas of olden days when every senior artist put a lot of effort on lines. I used to be a manga assiatant for a couple of years and it was the time I started developing this technique. But nowadays most people prefer simplified figures and the more sophisticated and hi-tech digital art has become everyone's major commitment.

Yes, this kind of skill with the pen is becoming more rare and you have great skill. I have tried to learn the pen but my hand is not steady enough. This is a very unique twist on penmanship: [link]

Well it takes time to develope the steadiness of arm and wrist. The way to control the strength is perhaps the hardest part of the job because it was the arm pressure that determines the line effect. I spent at least a couple of years to master such technique under the apprenticeship of 2 senior artists simutaneously. Pershaps you can try drawing lines lightly by using a 0.1 or 0.2mm drawing pen (the Japanese Unipin and Pilot are the best in my own sense, while Artline is suck), sometimes it can be augmented by French curves -- That was how I started. Make sure you don't grab the pen so tight like you are about to crush it. You can first try drawing short lines or hatching by moving your fingers, when you feel comfortable you can proceed furthermore by moving the wrist. I hope this can be helpful.

Perhaps I could not learn this kind of control. This is your special skill. My art is taking me different places for now. I have done a penwork. This one [link] It is weak. But I had fun.

Thanks. I used a Micron fine tip I believe it was called. I have some dip pens and ink but never really got the hang of them.

Well, whatever you used you did a good work here! Using the traditional dip pen (those similar to fountain pen) can be challenging but it's very versatile and robust in line drawing since the exchangable nib can make great differences between thick and thin lines, and generally write more smoothly than other types of pens. Nowadays Japanese mangakas still favor the use of it as it is an incompareble tool for inking.
