Description Megatron is finally done. Started back in September 2006, but was close to done for over a year now. He's built to be able to transform, but this final version can't, as I probably wouldn't finish till 2011, lol. This color scheme is based off the Classics version originally, but with the purple changed to black. Since I planned it, the Henkei version came out, so I used that to add extra color detailings.

I've done a bunch of renders to show off all the detailing, but I won't bombard my DA gallery with them all, so you can view them all here:

Amazing work, especially on the details and the textures

I know he can't transform, but what kind of articulation does he have?

He has all the articulation the toy has, plus a few more, like his feet can rotate on all 3 axis, compared to the toy's one axis. This is to help pose him better. Most of the joints can rotate on three axis actually.

Wow, that's awesome! I'm a sucker for well articulated toys, and my 3D models are all fully "Poser" articulated too (and they can be posed in other programs too)

Keep up the awesome work

Yeah, I like to make them as poseable as possible. Just because their based of the toy, doesn't mean they should be restricted to the same limits of their articulation. Like for City Commander, I cheated with a lot of the renders, where I rotated or moved the limbs to achieve poses the actual toy couldn't.

I'm severely doubting the possibility of me ever getting close to this good.... *stares, and stares*
Wow.

I started 3d modeling 10 years ago. It took me awhile to get to this point. I'm certain you can reach this level as well.

Well it's just sheer awesome. (And I've been doing 3D models for three years now with multiple programs.)
