beautiful, it wakes in me some mhytological memory, i don't know, the colossus of rodi or something. very fascinating and impactful, because of the position you chose.

keep going!

Thanks. You're right, it looks like the colossus. I also thought of it as a fallen heroe of an ancient war.

Yeah, that's why the picture is so charming, I mean, when you see it you feel as if it has fallen just towards you, about only a couple of meters away. Great impact on me. Great job that you did. Bellissimo.

The title written in the picture is "Surrender" because of that, as if he had fallen in a battle. Thanks!

velocista In reply to Gorgoro [2005-04-05 11:31:43 +0000 UTC]

I think your picture gives an excellent tribute to the sculpture in its amazing colour range and plasticity and for the placement in that environment. It makes me want to touch the image.

This is really interesting. But it would look absolutely A M A Z I N G in black and white Try it out. Please please try it. I definitely think you would agree. It's a fantastic photo. Great job

Thanks I just tried it B&W, but it doesn work that well. The tones in the sculpture look so alike that a lot of information is lost

That park is amazing. There are sculptures like that all over the place...it's like a cemetary of sculptures. Thanks for the comment

Colors: wonderful!!!! absolutely love them.

Quality: the image has a high resolution and is shart - rare case in deviant art, however, always pleasant to see

Space division+angle: the face takes more than 50% of space and impressively contrasts with the background. intriguing

Concept/meaning of the artwork: Art is not just for art’s sake, at least not in my opinion. Art has to have to impact and not only because it is esthetically pleasing. Art has to move you, art has to impact you or hit you like a truck going 100 MPH... and that what this photograhp makes me feel. well done!

Conclusion: if I was to give a grade from 1 to 10 I would give 10.

Thanks, not only for liking my deviation, which it's always something nice, but for taking the time to explain why you like it. I have to say that most of the credit belongs to the camera, that was able to make the exact image I had in mind.
