This is very cool My favorite part is the bottles; I love how you did the transparency there, and how you drew the contents inside: the way the contours bend, so that you can tell you're looking at objects enclosed in a bottle.

Thank you so much and feedback!
To be honest, I had never done anything similar to this before so I sort of did my own thing. It was a completely new experience to me, and it was nice finding out how amazingly watercolors work for such effects.

~ Oooo~! This looks so elegantly wonderful, and so delicious! Food is one of the hardest thing to paint, and you've made this lovely little scene look so scrumptious! I love the way you drew the bread with the spices on top, it looks like it just came out of the oven (I can almost smell it~!). And the bottles of olive oil look fantastic.

When I'm not drawing, I'm cooking, so seeing your culinary painting is an absolutely beautiful treat for the senses and a real feast for the eyes. Ahh, it makes me want to run into the kitchen and start baking bread right now. Wonderfully done!

Thank you so much!
To be honest, I find food... not easy, but enjoyable and intuitive to paint. Perhaps because I love eating/cooking, so when I paint food I join two of my likings in one thing As of the bread, the way I painted it (with a sponge) was namenotrequired 's father's idea. Otherwise it certainly wouldn't look this nice. I should thank him for the idea, it looked great and was easier to do
it's so awesome we have this in common. I am always cooking, myself, though I have a lot to learn still As soon as I can I intend on making more food paintings. They always make me happy!

You're ever so welcome, dear!

Painting food is indeed a very difficult thing to do - you're so brave to take on such a challenge like this, and look how marvelous it turned out! Oooo~ painting with a sponge is a fantastic idea!  I have heard of that technique before, but I'd always somehow forget to try it out whenever I would paint with my acrylics, and I would never have thought to apply it to a watercolor painting. Your technique looks absolutely great here in your image!

Yes, truly! It's always wonderful to meet another food/art enthusiast. I still have a lot to learn about the world of cooking, and I too still make a lot of mistakes. But I find that my curiosity for trying out new things in art is the same as my curiosity for trying out new things when I cook, so I can't help but continue to play around and experiment with new combinations and techniques. And you're right, a similar sense of happiness and satisfaction can be found in both.
Seeing your painting inspired me to try painting some food art myself, and I hope it'll turn out as delicious looking as yours.

Wow, you're sooo good! I love it so much, especialy the bottles! I wish I could be that good with watercolors and drawing realistic things! Keep this awesome work up!

Thank you so much, my dear! Those bottles were really fun to do, I'd like to do that more often and maybe, I will.
That's also a matter of using the right watercolors and paper, though. I always recommend Ecoline and Winsor&Newton half-pans on Fabriano 300g or Arches 300g paper, that's the best option for watercolor realism in my opinion.

The bottles are brilliantly painted! The reflections are really well done, and the glass is excellent, too. The texture of the bread is also very nice indeed, and overall the still life looks very homely and natural. Overall, you did a wonderful job in painting that stock photo.

Thank you the bread texture was done with a washing sponge, it was Bart's father's idea.
