Another good work! Again I liked the original more than the inversion, the colours look better in this one. Why don't you try making a triptych using three papers instead of one?, it would be great to see a large scale work of yours.

explain a triptych for me - i have no idea what one is

A work in three parts, like yours, usually they're made in three sepparate canvases -or whatever medium of choice-, framed sepparatedly and hang in the wall one next to the other. They can be one whole composition divided in 3, like yours, or different compositions that are somewhat related and belong together.

It's so freakin' purty! Keep using colours, they make it so much purtier! (If purty is the look you're going for, that is...

yeah it's much better this frame than the invert - i might change it for a white on the invert instead of those two black lines

Wow, even those WIP pictures don't prepare you for seeing it finished. The splitting up nto three seperate parts works really well, though I couldn't say why.
Hehe... the colour is weaker! It's always contained within thick black lines or behind bars of grey. But everything goes together nicely.
It reminds me of...dammit I don't know what they're called! They're giant patterns made in a desert by some ancient people. You can only see them from a plane because they're so big (Which makes you wonder how they did them in the first place.) Dammit I wish I knew where they were. Anyway, reminds me of them!
What did you use to do the last two? Is it mechanical pencil like normal, or do I spy a black pen? Yeah, those black bits must be pen, right?

Veganvictim In reply to 6BandBlackInk [2005-10-25 10:38:11 +0000 UTC]
i haven't used a pen to draw with in years - i much prefer my retractable pentel
i'm not as impressed with this than i am with the last one - but as usual i prefer teh invert - if you find out what those sand patterns are called let me know - i have no idea what you are on about

I like this too--maybe a little more. The colors--maybe because not cordinated too close add a nice contrast. The bright yellow/purple in the middle whereas the green/brown to the upper left and the other colors on this piece gives the brain a touch more to contemplate. And as a whole it's pleasing-- not a heavy clashing of tones. You know what I mean? I like it

yeah i know what you mean - i prefer the other one because of the vividness compared to the dullness in this one - thanks

i think i enjoy the sectioning done with this one the most, more so than the colors.
but i'm sure the inverted one is better about that part. the colors part. yes, that part. *rambling, you can hit me to make shut up or something, it's ok*

haha - i was having a conversation with kev only the other day about how it is illegal even if given permission to hit someone
i.e. you and i could be stood in front of a copper and you could say "hit me matt you have my permission to do so" and if i did i could be arrested - it's the law
hmmmmmm funny how they don't apply the same to boxing - is it because it makes a lot of money?
