It's about time I upload this piece! I started this drawing over 3 months ago. The reason it took so long was because I focused many many hours just in the colouring.Β All my previous coloured pieces look so dull compared to this and I'm glad I learned this. Any time I colour in the future I will try to get results like this or better.
I'm still working on how to get more contrast and I have some ideas how to achieve that with the colouring pencils. I learned from this piece that you can only layer on so much colour over another.
Like everything in art, you never stop learning and seeing new things.
Anyways on to the next piece whenever that happens!

Time and effort well spent friend! She looks fierce and yet beautiful. The colors are gorgeously blended with awesome composition and highlight tie-ins. You also nailed the armor and clothes as well as her facial expression and pose which really bring the piece together. The only thing missing is a corresponding background and perhaps connotation(or purpose for bein there) then we'd have a masterpiece~

I totally agree that I need to work on adding backgrounds to my pieces. I might have to start forcing myself to draw one with every new sketch I do in the future... Yeah I think I'll start doing that!Β
