Description Technically there is no such thing as the wrong question when you're a scientist, but when you're asking them of a Norse God with issues, technically can take a hike.

Anyway that concludes the whole rune thing which really wasn't meant to spread itself out into four or so pages, and should have been over much more quickly, but I suddenly decided it needed a bit more explanation and so it grew accidentally. The strange thing is, I'm writing to 'plot' now, rather than punchline, but I still think like it's a one joke a strip thing, rather than part of an ongoing concern* and so I find the whole thing rather weird when it does go beyond a page and panic slightly.
Still, next time we will presumably do some psyche-delving with Loki, because personal issues always bring the lulz.

Ahhh! I just LOVE your explanations with the runes (I think I've said that before, but it bears repeating because REALLY it's awesome.)

Also: Dr. S., please don't convince Loki otherwise. Mostly I would be slam bang on the side of the good guys, but if he convinces Loki not to go through with his plans, we wouldn't have an Avengers movie and I really need that in my life.

Fabulous, as always.

Cheers very much! (I am still waiting for a visit from a wizard who will sit me down and tell me why I'm wrong. And then turn me into a frog...)

Ah, luckily we side tracked into an alternate Universe long ago, so ANYTHING can happen.
And that terrifies me.

Thank you!

Yes! Loving this still I applaud you for being able to capture so many peoples attentions with fake science in a Marvel inspired comic XD
Also, I love the plotty-ness of it! I hope to see more punchline in the future, but the plot makes it feel more... comicbook ^^

I know, it's mental, isn't it? None of this was ever supposed to happen!

Well, it's become more of a mix of the two, but it does feel strange the way I'm writing now compared to how I started.

Haha, well I for one am glad it did!

Aw, I think it's a good mix. I love the way it's progressing so far ^^

I'm not really caring about the joke aspect, I think the story you're creating unbeknownst to even you is cool and interesting. So don't panic! Cause people should still be enjoying it

VanHinck In reply to Elegant-Ruin [2012-02-23 09:12:40 +0000 UTC]

I hope so! It's less of a panic, more of a 'how on earth did I end up writing like this?' sort of thing. It's an utterly different beast of a story, now. XD

Well it's enjoyable all the same! So keep going!

Speaking of psych-delving, I wonder if Loki ever met Freud...I'm sure that would be an interesting story, having the guy base his entire psychoanalytic method off of interactions with a cranky Norse god. XD (Inner rabid fangirl: might also explain why he thought everything had to do with sex; spend that much time around a sex machine like Loki and it's bound to influence your work somehow. XD)

VanHinck In reply to Kage-J [2012-02-21 09:09:30 +0000 UTC]

Freud would be fascinated by Loki, I'm sure. He'd have a field day. 'So', he would say 'You wish not only to kill your own father, but also the ALL-Father. Never have I seen a more grandiose example of the Oedipus complex.'
And Loki would no doubt be quite flattered, because if he's going to have a complex, he'd certainly want it to be the most complex complex available. XD

Oddly enough, I tend to think of Marvel!Loki (which really means Marvel!Film!Loki as it's the only one I've seen) as more asexual- probably because he spends most of his time angsting than anything else in the film.
Myth!Loki on the other hand... anything but. Now, if Freud ran into him... D:

XD And Now you are back to asking the wrong questions once more. XD I think it's normal to wanna know just what mayhem you are up to Loki. XD

Well, when I say delving, I mean insults evasion and sarcasm, so whether it will be any different from any other page...

You. YOU. You are full of wonderous wonders and silly silliness. I have come to expect this. Also, your Loki Smirk has been refined fantastically since you first introduced it.

I wonder what it would be.
Sort of small and sad with dear little whiskers on the end of its wobbly nose.

Actually, that's hamsters, isn't it?

WTFWonder In reply to VanHinck [2012-02-23 19:06:07 +0000 UTC]

Actually I envisioned something bigger, sharp-toothed and with a predilection toward hiding in the closet of wherever Mr. Hiddleston takes up residence; its acrid whispers haunting him when he tries to sleep between shoots:

Hiiiddlllesss...Hiiiiddlllesss...Relinquish your autograph or perrrissshhh...

And so on.

Can whispers be acrid?

WTFWonder In reply to VanHinck [2012-02-24 14:58:11 +0000 UTC]

Don't I just?

Whispers can be putrid, phantasmagoric and vaguely pineapple-scented as well.

I understand Dr. S. is impressed - I am too, and I'm not even a scientist.

Loki is more and more like a Zen master: right questions, wrong questions, you've answered your own question... soon he's going to make Dr. S. think about the sound of one hand ([link] , don't ask me why this comic has reminded me of that)

Can you imagine Loki as a Buddhist?
No, me neither

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VanHinck In reply to Valdemar-poe [2012-02-21 09:04:25 +0000 UTC]

I love the fact that I can write something which then reminds you of Buddhism and its teachings- it is so wonderfully random (and very much in keeping with this whole chaotic process!)

No, not at all- in fact, my brain shuts down while trying to compute that image XD

Valdemar-poe In reply to VanHinck [2012-02-21 12:48:38 +0000 UTC]

I know, it's really odd, isn't it?

Haha, he should learn something about buddhist serenity and leaving grudge behind...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VanHinck In reply to Valdemar-poe [2012-02-22 09:36:53 +0000 UTC]

I think he's got the whole 'Life is pain' lesson OK, but then the next step as far as he's concerned, is 'And now I must spread the pain around to others as much as is possible'
Which I do not think the Buddhists would agree with...
