My entry for the contest. The theme was to show a "non-canon" pairing of "Avatar the Last Airbender" characters. Non-canon, being that the relationship is not hinted at all in the show which means it will probably never happen...

So, after seeing a couple of fanarts of Zuko and Toph here on DA, for some reason....I really started to like the pair...Many people say that it couldn't happen because of the age difference, yet some people ship Toph and Sokka...the age difference between them must be pretty much the same right?

Anyway, I tried to draw a scene that looked like it could either be a casual conversation or it could be a little more (just look at Zuko's eyes).... I even thought of a little story for it....if you want to, read the following:

(It takes place at a hot spring by the way):

After getting out of the water, Toph slipped into one of the kimonos loaned to her by the bath house while her usual clothes we're being cleaned.

"Man...this is so light and breezy...you can feel every thing.."She said with an annoyed tone.

Walking towards the exit of her room, she suddenly stopped cold...she had heard a sound outside...someone was on the porch...

Slowly opening the door, she poked her head outside...and smelled tea ...

"Sparky? is that you?" she said.

Startled by the question, Zuko answered: Yeah, it's me.

"You know, you're never going to make friends with the rest of the group if you don't come out and play once in awhile." the girl said. "But that tea sure smells good, mind if I join you?"

Zuko turned his head to look at her for a moment. She was one of the most powerful Earthbenders he had ever seen, yet, she was just a small blind 12 year old girl. Her small frame was even more apparent through her light green kimono. Her hair wasn't tied like it usually is, which gave her a charming look he had not noticed before.

"Sure, go ahead" he answered as he poured tea into a second cup."

Forgive if my English writing is a little awkward... English isn't my first language....I'm bilingual, but still.

NOTE: I know Zuko's right arm looks really weird...by the time I really noticed it...I was half way through the coloring...oh well...
