True Mark Waid intended her to be an albatross, a dead end. But with enough help perhaps the fans of Brainiac 5 and Supergirl will get DC Comics to change their minds and make her a full fledged character? After all the Legion of Super Heroes was an albatross too, intended to be one time only story about Superboy meeting the Legion and look how it kept growing over the years until it is what it is today.

I only learned it recently through the Legion of Substitute Podcasters when they interviewed Mark Waid and near the end of the interview they ask Waid about XTC.

Just check out this link to them. [link] They explore all sorts of angles and issues when it comes to the Legion of Super Heroes and the DC Comics Universe. They can be a hoot to listen to especially when they read an old Legion comic and do their drinking game with it. It goes to prove you SHOULDN'T read and drink at the same time.
