One reason to why I prefer digital painting is the massive amounts of time it saves. Waiting for oils to dry is not my cup of tea. But I suppose it was nice to do something traditional for a change.This painting is my contribution to a Mass Effect 2 art-contest (that I hope I win). You couldn't enter with something smaller than 60cmx80cm, which is insane, and it had to be traditional, which is insane also.
So I chose oil paint as my weapon of choice and the amazing size 70cm x 90cm. It's painted on some paper I don't remember the weight of and not canvas. It needed to dry real quick, since I painted it all in roughly a week. Our sitting room floor served as my studio, and my legs cramped the last days. It was worth it. It's not the best photo, but It'll have to do. I might edit it more later. Photoshop is dreamy.
The women on the picture are Tali (back), Subject Zero/Jack (lower left) and Samara (blue lady), and they're all members of the ME2 suicude squad!
The asari are seriously sexy.
BioWare game, so I suppose they own the characters.

Hmm with a title like Femme Fatales I would think that Miranda would fit that MUCH more than Tali.. I admit I like Miranda more but Tali isn't a Femme Fatale no matter how you look at it.. Great work though!

Miranda was too rebellious and back-flipped out the window. She can stay there. Tali was nice and said she'd do it instead.

I love the way you captured teh expressions on Jack's and Samara's faces. (You can't exactly tell with Tali ^.^ )
Oh, and the shadow work is great. I would have made the biotics on Samara's hand a bit more prominent though. Not just an outline but a full glow, with light reflections off other surfaces.

I made the biotics that way on purpose. I actually DID light reflections off other surfaces at first, but it just didn't look good. I liked a more subdued effect biotic in an oil-painting. it felt classy *laugh*

Ah, that would explain it then. It does have a slightly more traditional look to it this way. Classy? I suppose that's somewhat subjective, but regardless it's turned out well.
