Description Every now and then I get in these moods. In this case, I was feeling vaguely inadequate, and went back to digital art, my first great love, to hammer out something weird and squishy and vaguely Brom-esque. And misty. For years I have eschewed mist because I felt the need to prove I could draw feet. These days, I think I've mellowed a little, or possibly I am simply so far 'round the bend I can't see that bit of the bend from here.

It causes me a wrenching pain how fast and painless this sort of thing is--if I tried to do it traditionally, I'd be here all week, and it wouldn't come out half so clean. On the other hand, I could then concievably sell it. This is the great artistic conundrum. On the gripping hand, I dunno how many people are weird enough to lay out a few hundred bucks so that a giant fetus-grasshopper in bondage gear could lurk on their wall, so arguably I'm not losing much in a practical sense.

But anyway! Murkstrider! Lives in murky areas. Make good watch monsters if you happen to have invested in property in a murky area, although frankly burglars are probably not high on your list of worries, given the likelihood of your castle sinking into the dark tarn if somebody leaves the toilet running.

Digital, Painter 7, 8 x 12, a weird morning when I should have been working on something else. Prints available!

It's creepy, and weirdly cute, and *at the same time* looks like it's wearing its underwear on its head, and therefore makes me laugh.

Wait a minute, did you just make a Niven/Pournelle reference AND a Holy Grail reference? nifty beastie aside, this description really made my evening.

Its not that you're weirder than the rest of us, you just express it clearer/better.

I entirely agree with you you about predictable+ sellable vs soul + meaning though.

This humbles me. Especially the part about how quickly you turned it out. I would spend hours and days on something like this, and not come up with anything as interesting, nor as well colored. It's just a really interesting composition, one that I had to see full veiw. I've seen a few (alright, a lot) of your frog pictures (because I like frogs) but ones like this- utterly original- this is great stuff. Although, you are right about perhaos not wanting it on my wall. Of course, my loyal ~APCCP-Mattemo likes to hang pictures of Illithid and the like up, so you never know. /laugh Brava! Keep up the great work. (I especially like the trees...)

Wild lookin' critter, Ursula! I can see where the feet might be a problem with a critter like this...I'd have a hard time deciding what kind of feet would support a swamp/mist denizen, too...

Hey I was browsing through your other work and noticed you got tons of things on your site... I'm looking through it right now and... man. Your style !

I'll have to investigate some more - I might go for something else Should I note you on DA or email you about it when I find something I'm willing to adorn my humble walls with?

lol ... but prints dont seem to be available ...

anyway, the digital thing is a big problem i agree. I mean, i dont have the choice of digital, im restricted to ye olde traditional, but i do know how to use the programs and so on, and i know how time saving they are and how much better your stuff looks with much less time with it!

anyway, this is great. reminds me a lot of jennadelle's work, im sure shes done something very similar. I couldnt say who did it first, heh
