Description Nalu is an orphan who's grown up on the streets in the desert city of Cog for as long as she can remember. She a sneaky little thief with a brilliant mind for getting in and out of trouble, and she loves a challenge because it's fun. Her weapons are twin longknives.

Meh, I was bored one night, and wanted to try something new. Painting in grayscale is really quite fun...it goes a lot faster when you don't have to worry about color. I know this looks surprisingly like *minties sketch commissions, but his genius is what made me think of doing this. This is my own work, Nalu is my own character.

Haha, lol. Don't worry, it's funny and not disgusting. Careful with Nalu though, she'd probably go for you with a knife. ^_^

I like the energy in this. Working in greyscale has given great focus to the lighting I also like the sketchy texture throughout the picture.

Thanks! I found that lighting was easier when I was painting this, and I could manipulate the shapes so much better.

That does look like fun! ^_^ Grey scale truly is great. You only have to worry about relative values. Nalu looks sounds like a great character. Hope you come up with more story for her. ^_^

It is fun! And it really goes so much faster. Haha, she is a fun character. I have a few pages of story written for her, just random stuff I come up with when I feel like it. I'll probably write more eventually, she's rather spunky and interesting to write.

Cool. ^_^ Characters like that are one of the reasons I like writing and reading fiction.

I feel kinda like getting back into writing a bit more right now. Mainly because of running into a show called The Colony. It's supposed to be an experiment using ten people with skills representing a cross section of the American population, but there isn't a single average lower-middle class joe, farmer, or manual laborer. In fact, most of the people are some flavor of engineer. It makes me want to write a story about actual normal people in a situation like that. (What really got me teed off was how lousy they were at bartering, but excelled at bickering.)
