In their profile they mentioned being of Scottish heritage and loving Celtic mythology, so I thought as a Scot myself I'd paint one of our mythical creatures, the Kelpie.

There are varying definitions of what a Kelpie actually is, most say that it is a jet black horse that constantly drips with water. It lures children with it's beauty, and entranced the children stroke it. Their hands stick to the Kelpie's coat and it drags them down to the bottom of the lake where they drown.

There are also stories of them being able to transform into beautiful woman to lure men to their deaths.

This is my interpretation of one, with the tail of a dolphin, hindquarters of a fish and seaweed for a mane.

I sincerely hope they enjoy their gift when it arrives!
