Description Soooo~
This is my first foray into watercolors and markers since 20 years ago.
I'm gonna let that sink in for a moment *ahem* ANYWAY~
It feels really nice to put brushes on paper again, I honestly forgot how it feels.
Almost would call it 'magical', but hey this is a start, so HOPEFULLY in a few months I'll be able
to control (or rather 'flow'?) more naturally with the brushes.
This piece is a mix of watercolor, inks and color markers.
Originally was a unicorn which evolved into a Hippocampus
Honestly still just experimenting, learning and most importantly; having fun with it

I like the overall blue scheme, and I really like the blue background; subtle but it has good texture. The cloven hooves look good, too

Watercolors... one of the hardest things in the art to master.

For a second, I thought it was colored with marker.Β

Dang, that is some precision brush control. I love it.Β

It is, it's a mix of ink, watercolor AND marker.
But I shall endeavor to have equally nice brush-work in the future :3

Seriously, it looks damned good for not having touched it in 20 something years! I can't wait to see how awesome they look once you're back into your groove!

Not bad for a first try in years, in my opinion.Β  I used to do stuff like this too.Β  Funny how you walk away from it for a while and then miss it and go back to it.Β  I'm interested in how more of your copic marker pieces go, too.

MaKo85 In reply to Shinobi-Raist [2014-02-21 00:00:15 +0000 UTC]

the markers are definitely more fun and precision oriented, but watercolor, if done right, can have a magnificent ethereal effect
