Description This is a Spiked Dog Collar i made. I was planning to see if i could put it into the items list on FeralHeart game. I've actually finished this mesh. However since i have Blender 2.61 i cant export .blend files into .mesh files. So until i figure out how to get more then 1 texture on this mesh in Fragmotion 3d program i'll be able to fully test it ingame. They really need to bring out a ogre.mesh exporter for the lastest blender -_- im getting tired of running back and forth different programs. The Collar is Black Leather. Its quite dark in blender so you cant really make the leather out but its real texture. The metal spikes are also real metal texture.

there's no link for it as it wasn't imported into Feral Heart. It doesn't even fit the meshes and it's not fully coded to work for FH. If that's what you wanted it for. If you wanted it for something else i don't give away meshes for free for other games apart from FH. Which i've stopped making them for fh.

How is that possible, This spiked collar isn't up for download. There's never been a public link for it therefore you can't fix something that wasn't out to begin with.

Go here. The concept is somewhat the same. When you follow this tutorial though after exporting you can't get it in the game the same way ruby has described. That was for impressive title. But for fh, after it's exported you'll have to drag the files into the items folder and code it in, in the items.cfg in the main fh folder.

no problem, Also don't add the skeleton in. Or armature is it's name in blender. You don't need it for feral heart since objects cannot have animations yet.

yes you can, as long as they're not particles. I'm unsure at the moment how to add particle items in without crashing FH.


Just get the mesh you want, as well as the Item's material file and texture.


So lets say you wanted the spiked earrings. You'll need the following.


The Spiked Earrings.mesh file (I don't know it's exact name.)

Spiked Earrings.material file

Spiked Earrings.png or Spiked Earrings.jpg texture file.


Once you have all these place them in the items folder in Feral Heart. Go into the items.cfg file in Feral Heart folder as well and add the items name in there as well as the mesh and material file.

Hey, its me again. I had some trouble with it and I need help with codeing. (I'm still new to the items) Mind helping. All i need are intrutions.

First off, you'll need a .mesh importer/exporter for the newer version of blender as in the newest blender ogre meshes aren't supported yet. It's called Torchlight Ogre Import/Exporter, Something around those lines. It will give you instructions on how to install it. 

Once you have that up and running you will need to Get the mesh, Material and the texture of the item you want to load in blender. As well as the type of character you want it on. Lets say the item is for the feline, You'll need to load the feline mesh and place the item you want around the part of the feline you want it to show up on so you can get it's correct size. Once that's done delete the feline mesh and save the Item mesh as any name you want. Add them to FH and load it up. When it load's it'll be in a whole different part, but at least it'll be the same shape of the body part you want to add it to. Now go off Fh since you know it's showing up. Go into the items.cfg folder where you added the items code in and start changing the code until your able to get it around the right part of the body.

the program is called Blender. It's a free mesh making program but can do other things as well. Like texturing, animating etc.

You can download it free from Blender.org i think it's called or just write in Blender in the search bar and it should come up with the site.

i didn't make a download link because at the time i wasn't sure how to get it on the canine models for feral heart. I know how to now but haven't been bothered to actually add it in game as it takes too long.

write in google, Blender modelling tutorials and see if you can find one. read through them to actually learn how to make meshes. If i tried to explain it to you it would take far too long and im not that good at explaining things to people. Im more hands on.

the spiked dog collar isnt ingame at the moment. Since theres already spiked collar for FH. They are either on the forum or Feralhearts Da group

you have to be in edit mode to texture. Only select the faces you want to be textured. Then split the scene to make a new window. Change it to UV map instead of 3d view. Load up your texture you want to use and it should show up. However it depends on what blender version your using. Im using one of the lastest versions so this mightnt work for you. Give it a try though

it was actually pretty easy to make. I've been practising blender for about a year now and through loads of trials and errors i can now mesh to a certain extent. however i still suck at doing animals.

i've been meshing for awhile now. If it wasnt for Drekentai back on when IT was the only thing out i think it was Version 3. He helped me with my first ever map. Thanks to him i became addicted to map making and loved trying new things for IT. However FH map making is a pain. The actual doing the terrain is the worst part. On IT it was easy and the game read the heightmap like a pro, however FH doesnt work like that. It doesnt really matter what color you do something the height goes all weird on it. Heightmaps and Masks where easier to make on IT. I once had 8 terrain textures on my old IT maps. I can just manage about 3 on FH

hmhm. my last map for a lion rp. i had a very bad trouble exporting it cause they wanted it to be HUGE it took me two weeks getting all the meshes right and stuff and then when i hit export it just said error. so i had to give up then i gotten beat up by people cause they were so mad. well not my fault. and i dont get people get mad all the time at the game and its only a game lol

the error could be due to having more then 1 mask written in one of the cfg files for that map. My MasaiMara one only used 1 mask but accidently i added 2 without realising. For weeks i was stumped on why it wouldnt export. That was until Bladeliger told me to check my files to see if any extra masks were there that shouldnt have been. She was right. I removed the 2nd mask and tried exporting it again. It worked. But people who get mad over the fact that you couldnt export the map. They should be greatful that you attempted to make a map in the first place.

lol some people are like that though, i had 2 people hog my map. Its called MasaiMara, i was sitting on a leopard den mesh i made for the map and i was chatting with my sister on how to upgrade the map. They came over and started telling me to leave the den and get out the map. I told them "i hope you dont kick everyone out of this public map" they said the map belonged to them. I told them straight that it belonged to me and told them where to go to find it. One of the people actually went on the forum and checked. They came back and told their friend that i was right and from then on they left the map. I on the other hand was angry. I spent hours working on a realistic type map and people claimed the map as theres. I actually reported it and a mod actually was disapointed with what the people did. Just goes to show how low some people can get.

to MasaiMara yeah you can. Have fun exploring on it. Its quite big and most of the sights in that map were taken from the actual masai mara reserve.Theres a few custom dens that i made myself and others are either tree's placed together for realistic-ness. You'll see what i mean when you get there.

i already can convert to a .mesh file. I use fragmotion to export it to a xml file then use OgreXmlConverter to convert the xml to .mesh. I already have the spiked collar in game and its on the right part of the neck for the models but the mesh itself wont shrink.Its just too big on the model. I tried a ogre program to load both meshes up at once and it doesnt let me. I tried Shrinking the spiked collar and placing it back into the game and that doesnt work either. In the items config area all it has is offset and rotation, theres nothing to change the size of the mesh itself.

You'd need to edit the original model itself to change the size.
If you resize it and it doesn't resize ingame, you'd need to delete the other .mesh and rename the file and stuff. It happened with my items lol.
