you know, i just thought of something: i think they're meant to be like pokemon versions of 10th century (not sure) Japanese culture. samurott is of course the samurai or shogun, emboar is something like a solider or sumo wrestler and serperior is like a emperor or king. that's what i think atleast.

yeah, that was the concept behind them p much. specifically, the Samurott line is based on Japanese culture, Emboar is based on Chinese culture, and Serperior is based on Western culture [notice the fleur-de-lis symbol is repeated multiple times through out it's evolutions]. a lot of thought actually went into this generation's starters, it's pretty neat. c:

My least fav gen. Because most of the pokemon look... well stupid. Again I chose the pig becuse he was fire and cute. His last evolve form Emboar... is well took a very long time to get used to, and this picturee is actually the first time I'm seeing the last evolve form of the Ottar pokemon, I like, and I like the green one!
to be honest, I hope they finaly stop here, I don't even want to know what Pokemon may look like if they do make a sixth gen...
Like always though, amazing work!!! love all of em.

Oh my, this piece of art should be illegal. lol
Enough joking. I like the colors, they look amazing. They stick together so peacefully, but at the same time they fight as which one is the dominant one. Is this some sort of cel-shading?
But not only that, the PokΓ©mon are also well designed. Actually you made them cooler than their original artworks. Emboar and Samurott would look awesome in a battle with that attitude, while Serperior is not amused at all. His expression is the best I've seen so far. Great job!

"Gen" is short for "generations." In this case, it's referring to the different generations in Pokemon.

Bramblefur In reply to unbadger [2011-07-29 21:22:28 +0000 UTC]
but what ARE generations?

unbadger In reply to Bramblefur [2011-07-30 04:33:44 +0000 UTC]
Um, not sure if you're asking for the dictionary definition of "generations" or what if is in terms of pokemon lol. If it's the later, I think Google can help you.

unbadger In reply to Bramblefur [2011-08-01 06:12:42 +0000 UTC]
It's quite simple, the Pokemon that were in RBY are the first generation, the pokemon that were introduced in GSC were the second generation and so on and so forth.

is it possible to have pokemon of the same generation?
π: 0 β©: 2
Melacee In reply to Bramblefur [2011-09-10 18:56:10 +0000 UTC]
Its like, First Gen, is the first/old pokemon, exp. Charizard, Squirtle, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Mew... etc Seccond Gen is like Chikorita, Entei, Raikou, Suicune etc.. its like the seasons,
Theres a bunch of new pokemon out like these ones, so they call it 5th gen, cause its the 5th batch of pokemon out xP hope this helps!
