No worries. I am glad you chose to join even with our rules on certain things. Like I said, your style is so unique. I'm drooling over Adam and Pritchard artwork alike from you. LOL. Two questions, is Kain your OC, and who is he to Adam? Reason I ask is I've seen another OC named Kain mentioned as Adam's unknown twin brother, so I'm confused

Well Kain is actually my OC yes, and he is a twin brother to Adam.
I made him several years ago, and told one person who was writing a Deus Ex fanfic at the time and I believe they mentioned him, and even added him in a drawing, though the fic was never finished.
Also I'm ok with the rules in your group, I know not everything I make is everyone's cup of tea. So much like a cup of tea, I enjoy it and don't place it in other people's houses if they don't like it

Not sure if you've noticed yet, but I'm a fan fiction writer. First time for Deus Ex, actually... that idea for a twin brother is very interesting. Darnit... now my story writing brain is going crazy. He's gorgeous... they both are. Nice job in coming up with him

I can tell you more about Kain if you're interested, feel free to add him in your writing if you'd like to.
My general canon story about Kain is that much like Adam, he was born in White Helix labs; but while Adam was found to have the special augmentation accepting genome, Kain's was dormant at the time, so he was one of the 'failed' experiments. That places him into an orphanage from a very early age, while Adam is saved from the fire in the labs and eventually adopted. But while Sarif and Bob Page eventually figure out how Adam is important to them, Kain is lost from their sight, perhaps even forgotten as the paperwork and data had been destroyed due to the fire. So Kain grows across europe, lives his life until the moment he has an uncanny car crash 'accident' - and from there he's also augmented (both legs and one arm). It supposedly happens around the time of Adam's surgery, as someone's trying to erase the trace of experiments on people. However Kain survives, his dormant gene now mature and accepting of the new augs. He gets a tip from a hacker (maybe Pritchard or someone else) and goes on to search for Adam, hoping to find his brother. Usually that's around the Panchea event, and Kain gets there just as Adam has destroyed the facility and manages to get him out with Francis' help. From there they go into hiding as the world turns into a mess, and figure out more about each other. DXMD is after that I guess lol.

I'm trying my best to fit my story into canon but I have a feeling a couple of things won't quite mesh out. Kain would only work in mine if he didn't meet Adam until after the events of my teaser, which is about 8 months after Panchea. Then again, they could've met in the two months after then where my main story will be set. Either way, I don't want to change his history on you, so maybe in the future I'll just write a piece about them both based off you canon idea (unless you are okay with it of course, because then I'll find a way to make it work, lol). Man, the emotional writing that'd come out of that kind of revelation to Adam. Oh man, I so want to do something now. Thank you for being so happy to let me use him, if I can

As for the current one... Well it's up to you if you'd like to include Kain still. It is possible that sometimes he finds Adam later on, for example if one of the alternative Panchea endings is chosen. Above all main point of the canon is that he searches for Adam, and sometimes finds him with Frank's help(cuz I love frankie he's great and deserves more storyline)

If you are okay with me changing his history I was going to slip him contacting Adam into the end of my teaser, which will then give me a good reason to write more set after it as well, rather than just the past back history one I'm still developing in my head (which is set straight after Panchea where Adam has chosen Sarif's ending). Is eight months later okay? Keep in mind that is subject to change after Mankind Divided comes out. Might end up only being four or five yet.
Either way, I'm not going to do anything with him unless I have your full permission. Goodness knows I want to though

I feel you with the time thing though, there are so many things I wanna write too but end up doing something else instead haha! Can you believe me I've ever only written one short random fic with Kain and Adam 
Haha yeah there's something about us fangirling that is a thing... but I've made the mistake of talking to someone thinking they were a girl because of swooning over characters, and I ended up being wrong... So now I just assume people are whoever they are unless they tell me the specifics themselves haha

He features extensively in Stolen, and he'll be a very big part of the main back story too. I adore Pritchard and my character Shaali has known him for quite a long time

Hmm technically Kain isn't straight... let's say he can appreciate all beauty. I'd like for you to leave it like that as an explanation, rather than changing his preferences.
Otherwise as a character hmm... He has known a lot of people in his life, as he'd lived in many places; has some friends, some buddies... Easy going personallity, but can get really mad and protective if someone threathens the people who matter to him; or any innocents. He can turn into quite the killing machine, which has helped him to survive and now aids him in the quest of joining Adam's side (as there's a lot of fighting there)
He likes fast cars and big guns, has great fondness of cigarettes and sweets; loves to go to cyber parties with techno and EBM music... If there's anything particular you'd like to know, you can always ask

Okay, see that's what I thought actually because of your mention of Frank and a couple pictures of yours I've glimpsed in passing. I will try my best not to really go into that side of him at all as I'll be focusing on the reunion with his brother more than anything else. I'm not here to change key parts of anyone's personality even if I don't like them myself. Thanks for being honest with me and understanding on that front too 
Lol, he actually sounds like a male version of Shaali in a lot of his personality so I should find it easy enough to develop him. And when I do, please, if there is anything you don't like let me know. Thanks again for your permission to use Kain, and all your help with him. I'm about two chapters away from the end of Stolen, so will let you know when the intro chapter for him is up
