Description Marcus holding the remains of Carlos.
Based on the first gears of war novel 'Aspho Fields'
That moment just tore me apart- Marcus loosing his closest friend, a man who was his brother not in blood but in bond. From what I know not many people have read the books; I've read only the first one because I wanted to know more of the characters backstory- but it gave a whole new depth to the games and I can never play without thinking of everything that had happened; admiring the strength Marcus has- to keep going after loosing everyone that was ever close to him.

///
Partially inspired by a scene in 'Hellsing' where Seras Victoria holds Alucard after he's been shot.

Great work man, that part of the book made me shed a man tear. And as a Hardcore fan of Gears of War, I highly recommend you enough to read the other novels, they take the story to a new level, explain a lot of things and refer to small details you didn't know you knew from the three games. Absolutely worth it

Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this. You've ripped my heart out with feels, but having read the books, I feel the same way you do. It's nice to see this getting some artistic representation, because losing Carlos is such a thing for Marcus.Β

From the moment I had read that scene, it remained with me. I just had to draw it at one point...It was feels all along, and I just had to share it with more people that've read it...

Beautiful, if not tragic.

There were a lot of tragic moments throughout the series, but this is a one that will remain with me forever...

I balled when Carlos died.Β  I was also listening to music that fit way too well so that didn't help.Β  Now every time that song plays, Carlos is the only thing I can think of.

I often think of everything that could've gone differently in the gow universe if Carlos has lived... I just find his death and what followed so tragic...

I was on the verge of tears when i got to that partΒ  Β

You should read the other ones, they fill in the gaps that the games left.

And I outright cried. It was in the middle of the night, while I was in a friend's house, with a jar of cookies. I just kept reading and I cried and decide not to read any of the other books. Too much feels ;A;

I would have cried, but my father was going to make fun of me, so i couldn't. Another thing that tore me up was what Marcus said about his mother, poor him that guy is jinxed.

The second one is a little bit lighter than the first, tough there's a lot of depressed Dom
