Tommy Richardsen // Facebook // 500px Β // InstagramSorry for being away for such a long time, but managed to keep shooting still, so expect a few images in the coming weeks.
This was captured after spending hours getting nothing at another location close to this, clouds just would not cooperate, the one-cloud-syndrome where everything is a single grey color sucks.
When the clouds finally started to break up, even though mid-day it provided such an interest that this location fit the bill perfectly.

Yeah, one-cloud-syndrom sucks. It's probably on the same level as bluebird days, depending on the situation. I'm happy that you could get such a dramatic image in the end!

I would say it is almost on the same level, on bluebird days you get that ugly looking banding effect on your images, makes the sky almost look pixelated.

On the upside, you can see the sunrise/sunset on bluebird days which may throw some gorgeous light onto the landscape. Sometimes it really works well, e.g. for more abstract images without sky.

Yes, it all depends on the quality of light, a sun high in the sky creates harsh shadow that tend to not look so pleasing.
