Description
Shantung silk Victorian Gown with beaded trim and braided trim.All braided trim is stitched on by hand.
Dress has a train, inverted pleats in the front, and knife pleats in the back. A pleated drape covers the hips, with a faux-closure in the back of a large bow. The dress has a hook-and-eye closure up the back.

i can see where you're coming from, but it's a period piece and dresses in that time never would have done that -- too risque in a conservative time. thank you for the compliment, though!

This is so lovely. I'm absolutely floored you did this all by hand. The patience and the obvious care you put into this dress is... gah! Amazing.
I love Victorian gowns and this really exemplifies the era. The cut conceals all those 'parts' 
(This is slightly off topic, but seeing this dress makes me miss HBO's 'Deadwood'. Such sumptuous costumes for the ladies...

I'm not going to pretend that I know anything about fashion or about the difficulty of creating a piece like this (i can reattach buttons, but that's it) but this is just a lovely piece. I love the Victorian feel to it and the color choices... I also see a bit of flapper with the beading? dunno if that's just me. gorgeous piece!
