To clarify, this is not part of Kaiju Revolution. But a few weeks ago, when I had some extra time on my hands, fellow Deviant JacobSpencerKaiju79 postulated a take on his own original kaiju, "Monsturra". A brief description was given, enough for a basic general picture. I decided not to view any other depictions of the character so as to make my own take as distinct as possible. I felt that would be the best way to offer fresh inspiration. Anyway, Monsturra is described as generally reptilian, but with chimerical features. I've therefore rendered him with a mix of amphibian, crocodilian, basal reptilian, and therapsid traits.Once more, this character does not belong to me, and is for JacobSpencerKaiju79. It was a fun design to work on, but I'm afraid my schedule may be getting a little too crowded for many similar requests like this in the future. What a wonderful design! You took the basic description and ran to the four winds with it, creating your own vision out of it. I love the mammalian touches in the head, and the texture in the tail is just to die for. What a wonderful take on the base design. I think it’s my favorite Monsstera that I’ve seen!

could you do a take on THE quintessential Ultraman kaiju called Bemular?, instead of an alien it is now a powerful kaiju in Skull Island, i imagine Bemular should look like a monstrous Glyptodon/Armadillo with several reptile-like features, it is capable of shooting a radioactive heat beam of a mix of alpha/beta radiation, plus it's Spherical Change attack would instead involve Bemular curling itself into a ball to roll while protected by a highly radioactive shield.

You did exactly what you set out to do and I think that's great. This is a very fun exploration of how two artists can create things so wildly different based off the same, simple prompt. Kudos to you for keeping the process pure and not looking at prior art of the character, and for managing to come up with something so novel! I rather like the quasi-mammalian look to it, especially those pangolin scales, long fingers, and whiskers. It reminds me of kaiju like Gomess and Gabara, physiologically- not super overt on the mammal-ness, but there's just enough of it there to convey that it isn't a reptile. Helps give it a certain sense of identity as a monster. I really dig it and hope you won't be too taken aback by the uh, other feedback you get.

Ok, let's see what I can here. Now, I appreciate what you did here, and that's cool. Granted, I did say that this should be your take on the character, and there are some features that I do like for it. But, there is some stuff I don't exactly care for. Maybe I should try to go in depth a bit. Keep in mind, this is coming from the creator side of thing, and less from the artwork thing.
Alright, I do like the overall design that did here, and if it was any other creature, I would love it. But, at the same time, this feels so different from Monsturra. The main thing is the lack of the nasal horn, which is pretty much existant in past designs. Also, the therapsid/crocodilian hybrid head here is a bit strange to me.
Do I hate it? No, of course not, I think if I changed a few things to make it more Monsturra-like, it would be perfect. But, for right now, it doesn't feel fully like Monsturra. With that said, I do appreciate that you did partcipate and thanks for posting this online. Hopefully, you won't be offended from my feelings about it.

I was worried I was being a bit harshed to be honest. Of course, most of it comes from the "proud father" type of route, as I see Monsturra in this way or another. That said, you are very welcome, and I do think I will be using some of the idea you drew here. Not everything, but I will definitely use some ideas.

As for your Monsturra, he is certainly unique! You’ve really made it unique and I’m sure will be happy to see it! I think my favourite part is the head, with the cat-like nose and Kaprosuchus-sequel head. I certainly hope it foreshadows even greater things to come with this new stuff you’ve gotten!
