Hope there's some good shelters out there. Cause I heard PETA was just killing all the animals and only had 1% adoption rate.
I always worry about the animals cause they are usually not accounted for in evacuations.

There are some good ones out there. Based on some research, the Pets Alive! groups in Houston and Austin look like worthy causes - they've been bailing out shelters that were flooded, transporting those animals out of Houston and placing them in foster homes . Β I would never give money to PETA, those odious hypocritical clowns. Though they don't say it up front, the founder's philosophy is an extremist one that opposes all human interaction in animal lives. Β Presumably, this is why they're more in the business of killing domesticated animals they "rescue" rather than placing them in homes.
