I have to censor this piece, just because apparently Ariel, with her daughter and all stuff, still be a girl. DA's rules says I can not do nudes if the character is under age. I liked it without the shell, she looks so more natural but if I wanted this on the page I have to put Shells....So welcome bikini shell...... This piece is based on John Williams Waterhouse "A Mermaid"hope you like this the way I like it......

Given some of the barely disguised porn that does pass the DA censors, I'm as annoyed as you at learning that this well-executed and well-conceived take on the subject was hit with a cease and desist ...

Fortunately I rarely bother with nudes, most of my faeries are lavishly dressed so it isn't an issue with them, and my mermaids tend to remember their bras as well.
But I agree, it's really irritating to see people on a website dedicated to art displaying this level of fulminating incompetence - requesting censorship of something that should instantly be recognisable as a homage to a Waterhouse masterpiece (I've seen the original at the Royal Academy), whilst being completely oblivious to some frankly tacky dreck that's in circulation on some people's pages, including material that is accompanied by disturbingly misogynistic views of women. Someone seriously needs to get their act together on this.

I can tell this was taken from the mermaid picture on wikipedia, but it still good. Β The one thing I should address is the tail tip, it looks kind of unfinished, like it was just left at the sketch point. Β You might want to address that and make it look more like the rest of the picture.

Actually in my description of this, I put this is based on the painting by John Williams Waterhouse "A Mermaid" most of my works are based on antique paintings and I referenced them, And about the tail.... I don't have any idea of how to do it but it works
