for my collection What Death Took From Us, here's Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc).
I am drawing 6 famous women from history that died in unfortunate circumstances

I had the idea for a series like this, for a long time. Then, my dearest friend Dara said she was going to do the same thing. I took it as an inspiration, and start my series as well. Of course, Darinha's will be fantastic and very original; she has a gift for reimagining things in her uniqe and beautiful style.
Mine will be rather more historical.

Jeanne d'Arc died 30 May 1431 (aged approximately 19 years old).
She is a very controversial character in history, but undoubtedly existed. She recaptured for France, part of the territory that had fallen into the hands of the British; she helped to restore France's fortunes during the Hundred Years War, driving victoriously the French army against the British. She was captured by the Borgognoni in front of Compiègne. Jeanne was sold to the English who underwent a process of heresy, at the end of which, on May 30, 1431, she was sentenced to the stake and burned alive.
