Haha... nope. Of course his backstory says he's named after Biblical Samson (him and his brother were raised by a catholic priests for the first couple of years), but in reality, he is named after Bigwig in the story "watership Down". In the Danish translation he is named Samson, and I LOVE that name (swear to god, if I EVER have kids, and one is a boy, Samson is gonna be his name).

You're welcome! It's true, the outer appearance of Dawson makes him seem hardly roguish. But his military side will come out if he's pushed enough. Or that's how many of the foreign comic book writers portray him.

Of course - incredibly badass the both of them, but I wish the movie would portray Dawsons cool professionalism more, as he often just comes out confused and impressed. More BAMF to Dawson.
Basil is plenty cool, but that we already knew, and he is being portrayed as such.

I know they were going for more of the clumsy, comedic side of the character, or like Nigel Bruce in the later SH movies. Dawson was pretty straightforward in the Eve Titus books, much like Dr. Watson in the Sacred Writings. They sort of make him the comedic relief in the comics, but also putting in his military side. Love that!
I was suddenly reminded of Robin Hood saying to Little John, "You don't just walk up to a girl, hand her a bouquet and say, 'Hey, remember me? We were kids together. Will you marry me?' No, it just isn't done that way."

I don't mind amusing, or entertaining, but it's almost bordering to the imbecilic, and that I do mind. Luckily, they've managed to make him absolutely adorable and such a good and strong friend that he still has an overload of positive traits.
And yes... YES! That is a scene I NEED to depict. It is too adorable for words and it suits them. Yes Robin... Yes that is EXACTLY what you do! It is exactly done that way!

His voice, Val Bettin, had a lot to do with adding appeal and warmth to the character, too. They really made a good choice in his voice actor.
I know, that was a great film, one of my favorites from my childhood! I adored Robin a lot!

The voice was amazing! So warm and heartfelt. I swear to the gods the voice-acting in this movie does SO much of the work. So well-cast.
And now I'll have to take that diea and somehow incorporate it to Ediths and Dawsons story

I agree! There isn't anyone in the voice cast who didn't disappoint! And that's an important part in animation, too. Aside from the animation in character development, the delivery from their actor, breathing a soul into them, is an absolute must!
Oh my goodness, this would be a hoot to see! Twenty years, eh? Think of their relationship as a fine wine, getting better and better with age!
