Sooooooo coool.

I love the shading in the grain pattern. Especially around the crack.

i love how it gets all dark then cracks open, and yet it's still a light wood unlike walnut or rosewood! (I say this because lighter

colored woods usually have boring grain patterns so this is very rare!)

The butterfly keys are a nice touch. I have wanted to do something similar pouring molten pewter into the join, and then polising.

Thanks! That would be really cool. I guess it would burn the wood around it...which would add to it if you ask me, as long as you can keep it from catching fire

No worries, it barely scorches the timber... but you have to use a dense timber like Australian timbers and wet it down for it to work.

It looks really cool for natural voids in turned burls etc, you can pick up old pewter goblets and such at goodwill stores and melt em down.

Thank you very much
I don't usually put that much hidden meaning in my work, but I really enjoyed it with this project. Maybe it's worth trying again
