Phew. This took me forever, literally. Not sure how many hours I spent on this, but I reckon, around 12 hours, was watching South Park while painting so I kinda lost track. Has been a long time since I spent this much time on a single painting.This is just a fraction of a second before Syndra will try to do unspeakable things to the tidal trickster
I'm deeply in love with Void Fizz (design originally by Artsed :3... it's currently on the PBE) so I was just waiting for the right opportunity to do a fanart.I really struggled with painting Syndra's face, it's been ages since I painted a proper portrait and I had real trouble to get the skin tones to look at least okay. I looked at a lot of painted portraits, photography and tutorials but I kinda messed it up anyways. So, any advice on how to improve the face and skin tones would be highly appreciated.

Really great colours! Love all the different violets and magentas. You did a really good job on shading the creature on her head! The reflective shine on it's eyes and jewel are really convincing, and it's skin has a lovely magenta undertone with a touch of sliminess, it's awesome!
My critique for this piece would be to have used the same approach you used for the creatures skin (minus spots and sliminess) for the female characters skin complexion. I see you've added very very subtle pinks and yellow tones in her skin but I would've added more! Especially some of that magenta light to bounce off her skin. Her face feels flatter in comparison to the dynamic shading of the creature

Sounds like a good advice to me! I am just unsure where to put the pink and yellow tints, it looks so messy when I use too much of those. The face looked very orange at one stage, maybe I'm just picking the wrong hues and should rather go for more reddish and pink hues?
You're right, I totally forgot about the magenta light bouncing off of her face, not sure what happened to my plans to add those XD...

Ohh, this looks really great! I love their design and the colouring here is lovely! I'm liking the purple against that blue'ish background. I also think the skin tone looks really good, and the eyes are beautiful. I do think the eyes are too close together and too high up in the face. You can simply cut the eyes and move that part around on the face to see where it would look better.. or not

I know, I know! I always have the same problem... orz. And it's so annoying. I guess it's really important to get the anatomy right in the basic drawing/lineart but when I start painting it ends up completely wrong again...
