Driven out of France, Ruby and the UK are in most despair.
Awaiting for an almost impossible rescue.
She endures the bombings, the sirens, the screams, the fear...
The humiliation of a nation fades, looking now with pride against their defeated enemies.

It was a long time ago. When my inner fire awoke by hate, pain and loss.
A never extinguishing flame of strength, sealed by blood.
Soldat, let me tell you my story.
I was merely a child. I was happy, as any infant should be. I was a messy girl, yet educated, extroverted, an unstoppable combination of joy and fun, every hour,everyday. For the first ten years of my life.
The Fall family was the founder of a wealthy company in the Ruhr region. We had everything we ever wanted, a mansion, continuous trips, exquisite meals, loyal and caring service. Life was comfortable and money was no issue...but then, the war.
Germany lost the Great War.
And with defeat came the consequences...
Versailles.
The Treaty of Versailles humiliated and obliterated our country from within.
It created the worst crisis Germany ever had.
Income was declining, supplies depleted, production halved, and workers fired. It was a nightmare. Of course I was far too young to unders

really hate to say this. but the machine guns on Stukas are mounted in the wings not under the engine

"Shit! Heads down lads!"
The fucking Stukas. These things were serious bastards. God knows why the Jerry bastards had made them produce that damnable *noise* as they dove. As far as Ruby was concerned, it was a more of an early warning than a tool of terror. They weren't the fastest things out there, either. If only they had the RAF overhead or some kind of decent AA weaponry...
She dove into a crater, covered her ears, and waited.
An explosion ensued close by, throwing up sand all over the place. Thankfully, it seemed that nobody had been hit by that one.
Ruby looked down at her rifle. She still had plenty of ammo. Its rounds were the same kind used by the Spitfire's guns. That meant... she had a chance.
She laid out onto her back and aimed skyward. Another Stuka was coming in on a gun run.
"Hit, dammit!"
She fired.
Suddenly, the Stuka spiralled way off course and slammed into the beach, exploding with its payload at a reasonably safe distance from her men. The pilot had been hit, right through the canopy.
A nearby trooper stared at her handiwork.
"...Bloody hell, Sargent. If we get off this damn beach, I'm paying for *everything*."
Nearby, a burly Scottish soldier fired a stolen MG34 from the hip, blazing away with a grimly determined look on his face. Another Stuka fell from the sky, its engine perforated.
"Come at me, ya Kraut shits!" he roared up at the sky, slamming in a new belt of ammo as he did. Ruby didn't know this guy, but she made a note to make an acquaintance of him later. Assuming that they survived.
They may not have the RAF, nor might they have the Navy. But they did have sheer tenacity. They were going home, whether Jerry liked it or not.

This is awesome, and captions the real event, all the horror of what happened at Dunkirk. I would love to see one of the chapters in RWBY(I'm sorry if I don't know the chapters names) in a Canadian WW2 uniform running up Juno Beach.

She watched as thousands waited. Many stood idly among each other, watching the weak trails of cigarettes drift into the chill air. Some sat upon crates and barrels, resting their tired bodies. The sea salty air of the English channel filled her nostrils. Giving her the conflicting sensation of home. She could see the cliffs of Dover, so close, yet so far away. Unconsciously reaching out, in the feign hope that it would bring the safety of the island closer. Now it merely reminded her of how far they were pushed back. A cornered animal with near no chance of escape. She stood with her brothers in arms as they waited. That's all they could do. After abandoning their equipment further inland to escape the Nazi advance, they were left with almost nothing. Praying for a rescue, while the few that stayed behind held off the attackers. They hadn't heard anything from them since. Time was running out and they all knew it. Turning her head towards France, the destroyed buildings and rising plumes of ashen as well as tar black clouds rose lazily into the air.
She shivered as a sudden gust of sea winds blew. Gripping at her crimson cloak, once crisp, pristine, and clean... now torn, dirty, and her only reminder of home. A gentle hand gripped her shoulder, her silver eyes, met those of sapphires. He was just as worn as her, dark rings from lack of sleep, ruining his boyish complexion. Giving her a warm smile as he looked at her, "Don't worry love, we'll get home soon." She hoped he was right. Any form of banter among the soldiers was silenced. It was distant at first. Ruby unknowingly held her breath, while she heard an audible gulp. It came as a dull thrum, only to become louder. Thousands turned their heads towards the source, begging to God Almighty that they were all imagining the same sounds. "STUKA'S!" Someone yelled as the beach erupted in panic. Everyone threw themselves onto the grainy sand, as the screams of Jeriko sirens penetrated their ears. Trumpeting death as they dropped their payloads. The damning whistles of bombs, and the earth breaking eruptions of bombs. The bombs deafening her, as she screamed in fear. She gripped her helmet, as she tried to get the ringing out of her ears. Vision distorted, but she dared to look up, not caring about the sand plastered to her face. Craters of various sizes now decorated the beach, her eyes widening as she heard the screams of now amputated soldiers, cradling their stumps. Whether there were more or less than what she was seeing, she couldn't tell at the moment. Men, withered in pain as their comrades rushed to help them, while others took advantage of the situation and scurried into the carters. Ruby wanted to rise and help the wounded, Lord knew she did, but she could only watch helplessly as the ratta tat of machines guns accompanied the ringing in her ears. She watched as men were mowed down indiscriminately. Laying their, lifeless and bleeding.
Ruby took in a deep breath, looking for more suitable cover. Spotting a crater rear by, she sprang to her feet and gestured the others to follow. The screams sirens faded, only to be replaced with the angry 'vrrrrr' of a Daimler-Benz. Ears ringing, dizzy, and afraid, Ruby ran for her life. Running faster than she ever had in her life, only to look back, to the sight of an ME-109's opening fire. Her slower comrades flinching as they become pocketed with deep crimson holes in their chests. Falling limp, her eyes widening as the puffs of sand came closer, and closer.

Perhaps, we might be able to see the Little Ships of Dunkirk. Either way, the British Army will be saved from Dunkirk. But the Battle of Britain is about to begin.
