Description I've come to the conclusion that to pair Light with Matt or Mello, one of them is generally going to have to be out of character. In this picture, it's obviously Matt, who has apparently fallen for Light's whole "I'm the suave, smooth-talking guy with perfect hair" bit. I can only imagine what Mello must be thinking, wherever he is... >>;

Drawn for the Open-mind Pairing Challenge, but of course.

Matt and Light are from the anime/manga Death Note, and belong to Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

Thanks for such a long comment! I drew this for the -- the Open-Mind Pairing Challenge. I was trying to pick unusual couples, and this was one of 'em. T idea that Matt could've been double working for Light the whole time isn't terribly far-fetched, since he just kind of appears out of nowhere and gets recruited by Mello. What if the way certain people died was all part of the plan?

I did a poll once...the vast majority of DN fans preferred to pair Mello with either Matt or Near. I usually don't care to even draw Light much, but for the I'll draw most pairings at least once.

I'm pretty much the opposite -- I like Mello and Near, Matt and Near, or a combination of the three. XD; It took me a long time to warm up to Mello and Matt as a pairing.

Yeah, I think my problem with the "fanon" ideas about MxM is that I absolutely see Mello as seme....and most people make him all uke and girly. Matt seems much more shy and uke to me.

Well, it's not just that, it's the way people portray Matt when they write him as seme. When I compare it to how he acts in the actual canon, it's not even remotely the same.
