Description
The character here is Zelatos (aka Zelly) intended for Concrete Jungle.
She fights like a Greco Roman wrestler and obviously has a gladiatrix theme as well...but there's a twist!
She can mold and manipulate her body to work like a mix between Plastic Man, T-1000 (Liquid Metal Man from Terminator 2), Venom, Jell-O, and gelato.
Flubber counts too I guess. XD
Since I was inspired by gladiators (well, gladiatrixes) I set out to make her facial features and hair texture look like Ancient Greek and Roman statues and depictions of women from Ancient Greece and Rome, to really drive home that overall Greco Roman inspiration going on with her and her design.
Now to delve into WAY MOAR of what she can do!
Her body works like gelatin. So, she if she gets can hit she jiggles instead of actually getting like legitimately hurt, or get cut and can reassemble, and generally can manipulate her body to do crazy things (like becoming a friggin Jello cube and dropping on people to suffocate them). Essentially like a blob absorbing someone...but in Jello cube form. XD
But, she's also able to control her solidarity! And solidarity turns down her body temperature, and she emits condensation when "hardened". So her attacks when doing so can freeze people.
Which, adds onto why she was a star gladiatrix. She couldn't be beat with brute force 'cause she can either be ultra malleable or too hard to be broken (and too cold for some to even handle).
One thing about her hair is that it will be very bouncy, which I thought was a fun and witty thing to utilize since curly/wavy hair tends to be bouncy as well.
She can split herself in half, then materialize a clone from it (and can create multiple clones by being split, like Flan style enemies in various games throughout the years). And turn into a pile of jelly and slide elsewhere for easy travel (like a teleport of sorts).
And as a specific parry, if she gets punched or kicked, her opponent's hand or foot can get stuck, then she bind around them.
How's that for a sticky situation?
GUFFAW HAW HAW!
Also, she can form around them, like a big Jell-O square of sorts (with her face showing) with them inside, and then you can button mash to basically suffocate them inside.
If you've ever seen any kind of amateur wrestling, you know how the kinda slide in to go behind?
Instead when she does that, she'll turn into like a kinda gelatinous substance.
She could do somethin' kinda like this

Which then has her wind up behind you and she does a German Suplex.
And THEN after there could be a window of time where if you do it quick enough she'll do a blob thing where she bounces you upwards and it becomes an OTG (Off the Ground) and leaves it open for combos or she can catch you and do another German Suplex in the air.
And something that would allow her to reach out for long range grabs like the gelly stuff kinda flinging out at them like...REMEMBER THEM OLD TOYS FROM BACK IN THE DAY THAT WERE LIKE STICKY HANDS THAT STRETCHED OUT? Something reminiscent of that.
Which she would utilize the stretchy arm in different variations of attack and "GET OVER HERE!"-like action, but moreover as a way to bridge the distance gap for grapples. But doing so just to bring someone to her just to hit 'em doesn't sound like a bad idea.
Her turning her brassard arm into a blade like T-1000 is a definite.
As well as molding a blade out of her elbow (the pointy just grows in length), but it'd be akin to how Kars from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure pops out his arm blades out of his forearms, but hers is out of her elbow.
While her other arm (the one with the arm band jewelry) can create a shield. Think kinda like how Venom could here:

She can manipulate her hair to do different things with it, hairstyle-wise. A comparison I could think of is how Franky from One Piece can manipulate his hair to do different hairstyles.
However, she can use her hair as a means of being able to use it to attack with, since, well, she can already manipulate and do crazy, creative things with her body already, so why not her hair too?
So it can basically be used akin to tentacles (slaps, smacks, slams and binds) and other unique methods of attack.
She's a very...different and unique type of character.
And a fun part is how her design can be deceiving.
The fact that someone could go into a match against her, thinking she'd be some type of typical grappler would be in for one hell of a surprise.
Storyline and origin-wise. I want her to be a gladiatrix that was enslaved and had to fight for her freedom, and she'd been a slave since childhood. She managed to survive all throughout, and that's partly because of her abilities, but she didn't always have them. I'm not sure at what exact point in her life she will have gotten them, but I want it to be attributed to either forced experimentation or via the extinction event that happens with Olympolis getting destroyed and turned into the post-apocalyptic wasteland that it is now (aka The Concrete Jungle).
Now then, since Odagren is the glue that brings all those characters together there (if they already weren't still or are already living there like her) for a chance to kill him since he's a fan of resolute fatalism and fucks with these different character's lives to give them a reason to kill him, and live a life based on revenge. And the idea is that he will have done these various acts in such a way where they didn't even know who he was until invited there and with a cryptic statement of admittance. And telling them to find him in The Concrete Jungle.
Her reasoning for getting involved is that, while enslaved, she will have had a child. He too while be enslaved as a result, but was not used as a gladiator. He instead was an indentured servant. Odagren (in a shapeshifted disguise) will have been the one to suggest putting the boy in the place of a combatant who was killed for an act of dissent.
Later on in her life, she had no idea that she had to face him in the coliseum. She wound up killing her son and when she looked into her eyes before he died, he muttered "mitera". Which will be another word for mother there (and the word it for it in Greek). She thought "maybe he was just asking for his mother?" and she tried to shake it off. But she could never get over that. In all of her battles throughout all of her years, no one ever called out for or died like that. And his eyes, the look in his eyes is what eats at her. She could never get over that. She was granted her freedom from slavery after that fight...but at what cost? Her peace of mind to never know if that was her son.
Until Odagren reveals that fact to her and gives her a reason to take her vengeance upon him. Because Odagren's idea of doing these terrible things to these powerful people, is that one of them could finally be the one to kill him, and grant him his wish of death in battle. But they need to be inspired. They need to have the drive and determination to do so. He wants them to kill him with passion, because he knows it's the only way anyone will be able to push themselves far enough and reach that upper limit of their power to do so.
Maybe it's just me, but I figured giving her something kinda fucked up of an origin and backstory highlighting how terrible, destructive things that both Greek mythology and real life and taking a page out of that was fitting with inspiration and what I set out to accomplish with her. As for when her powers appear, I kinda think when it becomes the Concrete Jungle fits best. I imagine an event like that would fuck with how people's bodies (who survived it) work, after all. And with how abhorrent some stuff in Greek mythology can be (and is lol), and Greece itself was, it seemed apt to give her a really messed up origin story and motivations to really highlight the inspirational from an all-encompassing standpoint, rather than glorify something. I'd rather present it in a brutally honest fashion, and how someone can come out of that better, but worse off at the same time. Duality and all that.
