how did you come up with such a style?

Three parts Moebius and two parts Mucha.
Oh plus a ton of Star Wars thrown in for good measure.

yes, but all yours...I'm not really familiar with Moebius and Mucha

Hey I like this one, it has a different feel than the majority of your other work. The figure isn't necessarily the focus of the work. You have a few others that are similar but not exactly the same. From what I've seen it tends to be machine or human, I like the scope of this one.

Cool! yeah, there's more space in this one.
Sometimes I wish I wanted to do more landscapes, but the "she" always seems to inspire me more that mountains and fields.

*chuckles* The 'she' can be quiet powerful but I like the application and distribution of space in this image.

Thanks! Yeah, I wanna do this sort of associative concept album. Where we give you some ideas to go on but you fill in the rest of the dream yourself.

That's probably the coolest way to do thing, I feel! Can't wait to see the finished concept album!

Well its very cool. I rather like the balcony structure in the foreground or is it part of a sky galleon?
I thought you were busy in Hell anyway seems they let you out so you could back to Rodinia.

Thanks! Yeah, I pictured it as one of the few buildings still standing.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go back and forth between Rodinia and Hell a little.
But I did track down some new art today.

Originally, I wanted to make Hell World part of Rodinia,
But it didn't seem to quite fit, I think I might move my "Underworld" stuff over to Hell-world.

Thats a good idea. It means you can get more work in there.

Yeah, it seems to fit better.

Chris-919 In reply to ThePlanetRodinia [2012-08-06 22:04:22 +0000 UTC]

Maybe thats because Rodinia always had a sense of hope and was never that dark. Now look what we've both done and created groups full of evil and nightmares.

ThePlanetRodinia In reply to Chris-919 [2012-08-07 01:20:37 +0000 UTC]

I still see a sense of hope in Hell!
In some ways, christian doctrine seems to suggest that rational thought and reason are the work of the devil.
I don't actually believe in any of it but part of the impetus for Hell World was the idea that we might be better off without restrained thought. Especially in the world of art.
I don't really want to create demonic images for shock value, it's just that my mind wants to go there and I didn't feel like stopping it.

Chris-919 In reply to ThePlanetRodinia [2012-08-07 01:31:02 +0000 UTC]

Well if you don't feel like stopping it then you really need to clean your mind. Might I suggest you try confession its good for the soul apparently.
In all seriousness Christianity is just another work of fiction. People can believe what they want if it gives them comfort and I'm not stopping them but lets face it all the Christian churches in England where built on the old ley lines and pagan sites of worship. Theres nothing original about it and as far as the Devil is concerned they've revised their thinking on that one in recent years, since its no longer demons and Lucifer to blame but the badness that is inherent in humanity i.e the potential to commit evil.
Anyway whats wrong with shock value? Last I looked a nudie gets more faves than anything else here, or have DA cleaned up their act?

ThePlanetRodinia In reply to Chris-919 [2012-08-07 02:11:09 +0000 UTC]

There's nothing wrong with shock value.
But that's a reaction of others.
I make art for myself more than anything else.
I want to share my inner twistedness because it seems like the "right" thing to do.
Look at all the activity it generated between me and you!

The main thing that get's me about the Christian cosmology is that we were down before we even started.
With the original sin. I need a theology that let's me start a zero at least.
Why jump into a game where you'r already loosing!

Chris-919 In reply to ThePlanetRodinia [2012-08-07 02:20:04 +0000 UTC]

I don't know why I've done half of the art I have, just for the sake of it I think. Only some of the very old stuff and the recent work feels like me, everything else is as if I just went through the motions. Can't explain what I mean really.

Twisted by whose standards? Does it break the rules of the site, no it doesn't so whos to say whats twisted and what isn't. I don't really know how you should define it, maybe its pointless to try since its just a form of expression.

That original sin crap is another form of mind control. I mean when do you think the Bible was really written? I say mid 13th Century by a bunch of Franciscan monks with far too much time on their hands.

ThePlanetRodinia In reply to Chris-919 [2012-08-07 02:53:27 +0000 UTC]

You make art because you want attention for your abilities, I know I do!
But I can't make good art with that in mind.
The process is enjoyable and intense and sometimes I feel I really connect with some other force from out there in the universe.
But, honestly, when they're done, I want people to buy them!
How great would you feel if you came home to find a new piece got a thousand faves?
I would be very happy.
It's bliss to connect with our inner world and satisfying to be competent at the craft, but if you don't share it, it's like the tree falling in the forest for no one to hear.
Not saying I think I can make a living on my art, I just think it deserves more attention that it often gets, and it's up to me to rectify the situation.

Yeah, as much as I disregard standards in theory, the fear of having to explain my offenses still haunts me.
I want so badly to break totally free of that! Look at Geiger.
How do really disturbing artists explain their art to their family and children
if their not making any money at it?

Yeah, I think those Franciscan monks also spent a lot of time brewing and drinking beer.
Not so bad for a work of fiction, but terrible for a religion!

Chris-919 In reply to ThePlanetRodinia [2012-08-07 13:48:27 +0000 UTC]

I suppose thats the case with all of us.

As for a thousand faves its never happened ever. I have about 112 on my most popular piece but to be honest when I see awfully drawn fan art get 3-500 faves I know the fave system means nothing and I don't dwell on that anymore.

I always liked Geiger's work myself, yes its dark but its also unique. I don't think its that much of a problem to explain really. I mean all he has to say is "I'm creating my nightmares as art".

Terrible religion definately, however being a monk drinking beer and illuminating manuscripts with artwork doesn't seem a bad life really.

ThePlanetRodinia In reply to Chris-919 [2012-08-07 17:50:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the faves a whatever, but the being more well known would be awesome!

Yeah, my kid seems ok with most of my work.
And I'll be decriet with the nasty stuff for now.

(sorry no spellcheck)

I feel like that monk a little bit sometimes, having my spirits and drawing maticulous details. It is rather nice. But mine is strickly a work of fiction.

Chris-919 In reply to ThePlanetRodinia [2012-08-07 17:56:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh yeah being recognised and inspiring others yes thats great and I'm sure more of us would like that. However look at it this way if our ideas and renders only inspire a few people or just friends its better than nothing at all. It used to bother me the whole faves, numbers, watchers thing but frankly its just meaningless crap and I don't waste my time thinking about it these days.

Yeah I'm a sort of monk archivist of my own demented universe too and thats pure fiction.

ThePlanetRodinia In reply to Chris-919 [2012-08-07 20:55:52 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's probably better to have a few intense interaction with other artists rather than a bunch of meaningless interactions with random people.

My view is who would you rather have to cover your back 10 reliable people that you know you can count on or a thousand worthless assholes. I'll take the 10 and make sure they have power armour and heavy weapons.
