Description Happy Global Wind Day
Meet today’s magnificent pollinator “THE WIND”
.
.
So here you can see a Common Dandelion plant being pollinated by the wind and this beautiful sight of pollination is loved by everyone and it’s magical....
.
.
Wind pollination is also known as “Anemophily”. Wind pollination is a form of pollination whereby pollens are distributed by wind.

98% of abiotic pollination is anemophily.

Grass, sedges & rushes or other plants like oaks, sweet chestnuts, alder & walnuts are depended on wind pollination.

Approximately 12% of plants across the globe are benefited by anemophily, including cereal crops like rice and corn and other prominent crop plants like wheat, rye, barley, and oats.

Anemophilous pollen grains are smooth, light, and non-sticky, so that they can be transported by air currents.
