Description Meet today’s pollinator the “Orchard Mason Bee” sipping some nectar from beautiful flowers of Forget me not. I really loved the colour combination of this artwork and the way the complete composition came out. Creating such artworks and knowing about these beautiful species is an therapy in itself. Knowing our nature and understanding it’s importance is the foundation for human evolution. Our existence depends on our coexistence. I hope by creating these beautiful species and sharing few facts about them is making at least few of us learn about them. I feel knowledge and awareness can really make a difference. Hope you all will like this artwork.

Osmia lignaria, commonly known as the orchard mason bee or blue orchard bee, is a megachilid bee that makes nests in reeds and natural holes, creating individual cells for its brood that are separated by mud dividers. Unlike carpenter bees, it cannot drill holes in wood. O. lignaria is a common species used for early spring fruit bloom in Canada and the United States, though a number of other Osmia species are cultured for use in pollination.
