Description This is a giftart-fanart of 's as of yet nameless Mermaid Character, from her awesome "Leaving the Elusive Fields"-piece ( [link] ).

I really likes the beautiful and calm fairy tale feeling of that picture, and felt like trying to draw one myself. I've never drawn a "regular" mermaid before, so this was quite a challenge.. a lot of hard stuff to fix in this one, although I'm pretty pleased how she turned out.

I had to add some pirate-stuff to the picture though, the story is pretty simple, she leaves the elusive fields and finds a sunken pirate ship I'm sure it will turn out to be quite an adventure :]

**** Iv'e got like 50 WIP-images saved of this one, might upload later.. had do some drastic changes on this one, all for the better, but damn, was it painful xD

The orange in the hair really works for me with all the blues around it. Very good color choices.

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you like this :] I actually had a pretty hard time with getting the levels of orange and cyan/blue right... I wasn't really sure it worked out in the end, but I'm glad you noticed

Thanks a lot :] I struggled a lot with this one, so I'm glad to hear you noticed some of the detail work

Thanks! Glad you like the final result :3 Sure took some time to get it right, but it's a much better picture now than before Thinking about uploading the setps for this one later, or atleast a sheet of all the WIPS, could probabaly tell quite a story, dontcha think?
Elise it is then! I'll probabaly do a fanart of her and Meris (the new darker version) someday in the future.....!
