Full render of my re-imaging of Kain's armor as a human in Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. Instead of making the armor pure white, it's a polished brushed metal and based more on realistic armor between the 13th and 14th centuries (before full plate armor was prevalent). So, instead of a small breastplate in Blood Omen, it's a relatively correct size, but the midsection is still protected by a kidney belt. The cloak and sash are similarly styled to the portrait of him in armor seen in Legacy of Kain: Defiance. It's a more rugged version, with a thicker piece on top, leather trim bordering, to help keep him warm while on the road. Kain was a nobleman, and also for a time a knight in kind Ottmar's army, until the malaise of the king disillusioned him and he wound up roaming the countryside. I took elements from the ingame look of him, viewable in the menus, and the cutscenes. So, brass trim separates his breastplate down the center and across, inspired by the cutscene version, but he also has the fluting diagonally down the front from the menu. Like what is actually a precedent in history, part of his armor reflects his family house with the engraving of his family crest on the metal plates sown into his gauntlets, red paint covering the outer metal. He also has his family crest etched into his satchel.

Modeled in Zbrush 4R7; retopology in Maya and 3D-Coat; UVed in Maya and 3D-Coat; rendered in Marmoset Toolbag 3.
