Man, I've forgotten how cool Raziel's leather garb was.  This render has a bit more detail available than the cutscenes available on youtube.  I will need to use this for reference.

This is a really gorgeous, amazing model. I know this is really egoist to ask but, could it be used for 3D printing? I really would like to make a small 28mm miniature of him for a Vampire-esque game. Also, I've seen most of your work and Im really impressed, I cant even start to imagine how many years of work you've put into 3D.

Also I really hope that if Soul Revenant is finished this model makes it as a alt skin reward or something, most fans always wanted to play with Raziel in this form

Thanks, this is a render of a simplified "real time" game, or film type model. In order to have something 3D printable, I'd have to do a lot of work on the original high polygon sculpt. I'm currently very busy just trying to get a portfolio together and get a job doing this. Maybe one day in the future, though, I can make printable versions.

Yes, down the line, I do hope that we'll get to that point, I can have this as an alternate skin for Soul Revenant.

im started with maya and i know from experience that this is not easy at all. did you do alot of polygon play in maya or did you do most of your shaping with the zbrush?

Thanks. I modeled this in Zbrush, did the retopology in Maya, some 3D-Coat, more sculpting in Zbrush, and eventually rigged and skinned it in Maya.

crazy, this would of taken me years, how long did it take you? you have it rigged? are you going to do any animation with it. be cool just to have a head turn and wing flap

Yes, he's rigged. I learned when doing the rig for elder vampire Kain that doing it from scratch was not something I was interested in paining myself with. I tried, even followed the Autodesk tutorial to the letter for Maya. An issue crept up that other users asked what was the problem, and even they didn't know what it was. So, anyway, after that I said forget this and searched for better, practical ways. I use a modular rigging system, which is a little buggy but I am used to it. There are others probably better, whether you're using Maya, or Blender, Max, etc. It takes a few nights to get a character rigged and skinned. I have a face rig I merge into it the body rig, so like Kain, he can be made to speak and emote, too.

Eventually it will be nice to have him used in the Soul Revenant fan remake for Soul Reaver I am helping with, as an alternate "skin" for wraith Raziel. Otherwise, I plan on maybe doing an animation in Unity at some point.
